I stayed for one night in a single room. Staff were very helpful and friendly - I asked for some fresh milk for tea-making and the lady on reception brought me a jug to the room within minutes. The room was clean, but the decor and soft furnishings are very tired. Breakfast room is bright and welcoming, and the breakfast...

Dear aliclaireben, Thank you very much for your kind review of the Washington Guest House. I am thrilled to hear that you found our reception team to be friendly and efficient. My housekeeping team is working very hard to make sure all rooms are spotlessly clean. In regards to decor, we are constantly updating the rooms by purchasing new carpets,...

This hotel is fantastic. Our stay was on the 9th of April for one night. Me and my fiancé stayed in room 29, whilst my mum, dad and younger brother stayed in room 10. Before we even got to the hotel my mums disabilities were noted, understood and respected, so a large double room downstairs was transformed into the triple...

We stayed at The Washington Hotel which is a part of the Clifton Hotel in Bristol, and found the location excellent for visiting our family who live in the next road! Also for the convenience of getting about Bristol itself either by bus, or as we did, walking. The hotel was warm and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly...

We recently visited The Washington with friends. All in all, our room #71 was godawful - condition wise it was poor. Weathered paintwork, damp, cold (broken radiator), carpet severely worn and a poor mattress. It's like a step back into the 60s and not in a complimentary way. Admittedly, the staff were helpful and friendly - provided an electric heater...

On last Tuesday 24/03/2015, I stayed in the hotel with a friend of mine for 3 nights, but oh surprise from first moment I tried to lie down on the bed, I felt like I was in a hole, sinking slowly, we thought it was a problem of the mattress, we informed to reception about this issue, they came and...

Good points, In Clifton, close to central Bristol, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast very good, and good service and reasonably priced. Downside rooms are tired and in need of some TLC, avoid room 71 as the carpet is threadbare, room small, and bathroom claustrophobic! In fairness we asked to be moved, and were accommodated with another room.
