Excellent central location for enjoying everything this fabulous city has to offer. Friendly, courteous and efficient staff. Two things fell short of expectations – both involving breakfasts. FIRST, when I checked online to make a booking (as recommended by a business associate who I came here for meetings with), I saw a rate, but also encouragement by the hotel to ‘book direct’. Open the hotel website, and you instantly get a pop-up saying that if you book direct, you get complementary breakfasts throughout your stay. However, it turns out that the room rate is increased, relative to other booking sites. They even offered to match the lower room rate, but not with breakfasts included. The net effect is that breakfast is not really complementary. SECOND issue – the breakfasts themselves. The kitchen did a great job preparing items exactly as requested – perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon and pudding. The problem was attention to details. Day 1: toast ordered but not delivered. Day 2: no salt and pepper. Both days – hot but bland coffee. The term luxury, to me, implies attention to detail – at least the aspiration of perfection. Therefore, I rate The Bristol as three, versus four or five, but would happily stay here again.

An overnight stay with my daughter in circumstances that required and were met with understanding and support. The staff couldn’t have been kinder. Great location, gorgeous deluxe room with large beds, TV, sofa. Coffee table and en-suite. All impeccably clean.

Very upmarket stay and very 60s chic. The room decor is slightly old fashioned though, if it was more modern or neutral this hotel would excel. What made me laugh though was the use of Van Morrison quotes on the do not disturb signs. I'm not sure if the chain management are aware of his views on the pandemic... The in-room breakfast was exceptional. Bed, room and amenities very comfortable and lovely views of the docks and the city if you're up high enough.
