Excerpt from my email feedback regarding my experience, hope this helps avoid anyone going through the same pain I endured: Issues encountered: -The telephone number on the booking confirmation did not pick up -No check in email was provided, I only learned of the Washington Hotel being able to assist from a passing stranger -The room I was provided had a broken lock -The receptionist did not know the PIN for the building, I was required to argue the case with the existing tenants and have them tell her the PIN, only after they refused my entry into the building -The receptionist provided me the desk number incorrectly -Still, I do not know the price of the room I am now renting as I initially paid for a room with a kitchenette. -I made over 5 trips to your reception, also took efforts to describe my situation of moving to the UK, my cancelled lease and last minute booking, my luggage. No sympathy, apology or help was provided. -Regarding the flat, I accept the target audience isn't late 30's professionals and more students/budget travellers; I was unaware of the market and the quality expected for the area so happy to chalk that up to my lack of research when caught in a pinch. Given the poor online reviews combined with my experience on Sunday, I'm not confident Clifton Short Lets can address the points above however would be delighted to be proven otherwise in helping avoid another customer having to go through similar pain.

booked this accommodation as i was unfortunate to be in Bristol last minute with my mother in hospital.... i had already stayed nearly a week in an expensive hotel with no kitchen and so was looking for something cheaper!!! this was not a bad price. i booked 11 nights last minute over the phone and specified i needed bed linen and towels and was told yes. the next day i went by the offices to pay and collect key details and drop my stuff off... once again i asked for the towels and was told OK. i also changed the dates to just 7 nights but was told i could not cancel any more than that. the accommodation was a house in a nice street with badly made "rooms" crammed in a a communal kitchen and communal bathrooms on each floor. the whole place was dirty and badly looked after. one washing machine was broken so there was a constant queue for that and no sound proofing meant you heard all the noise from other rooms. i was not given any towels so was unable to shower that night or the next morning!!!!! which was a major issue for me.... i complained next day and asked to leave however they did not allow that but offered me to move room/house and gave me the towels for free as apparently one had to pay extra for them! the next place was better and quieter... but carpets are broken, curtains hanging, shower tray plug hole so full no water would drain and cleaning non existent really!!! i was charged 20 pounds when i left as i had left a couple of things in my fridge and a small bag of rubbish in the bin!!!!! which is rather out of order taking into account the lack of anything clean in the place..... there was nothing to wash up with, no rubbish bags in the bin on arrival etc... theer were plenty of forms asking if we were happy; personally i would save money on asking obvious questions and spend it on re hooking curtains, cleaning and touching up paint work!!!! it is cheap accommodation and in a nice area BUT.....
