Location is excellent. Just 4 mins walk to bus station and shopping centres/city centre.
Many other complementary facilities. Lived in 12 bed room and it was more than comfortable. Cleanliness is good. Desk service is awesome. Kitchen is very big and well equipped, nice place to make new friends. I would strongly recommend this hostel for a comfortable stay.

The bedrooms are very dirty, there are waste everithing. Also there'is a terrifying stench and humidity are extremely. Also the heater don't work.

In common space guests don't keep clean , specially spanish guys like cook for us and they friends and after don't clean nothing.

It's better sleep under a bridge.

Hi Fabio, thanks for the feedback, it's quite surprising to read your review after your long stay here. We didn't have the chance to listen to any kind of complaint during your stay but it will motivate us to better understand why a guest that prefer to sleep under the bridge stayed with us for 3 long weeks.

I stayed here for a couple weeks in September and I must confess myself really really disappointed.

The rooms are somewhat cheap, shared with a bunch of other people, which is ok. What is not ok is that the rooms smell badly. When I went to the reception to tell the staff, they completely ignored me and pretended they'd never heard what I'd said.

The same thing happened when I pointed out how smelly and filthy the bathrooms (horrible teensy cabins with a sink, a toilet and a shower all cooped up together) were, with the only difference being the receptionist said there was nothing she could do as the showers were communal, as if that was an excuse for them to have the right to be filthy, dirty and smelly. I'd rather have no shower at all than have one there.

The management and the staff are really unfriendly and seem to care about your money only. There's a blonde woman who is rather stiff and doesn't help you at all when you ask for directions, and she goes around all the time with an Italian bearded man, and they boss around the staff outright everywhere, in front of guests, even as we are eating in the kitchen, which makes the stay really unpleasant. They slate their coworkers and then they smile at you, which shows how they are not genuine at all.

The management also doesn't seem to care about the terrible smell of weed coming from outside in the evening, as there always is a group of junkies sitting on the stairs outside the place (that actually are both guests and staff of the hostel) that smoke marijuana all the time.

On weekends, it is really impossible to sleep, as everyone is going around the hostel noisily, drunk and obnoxiously. There's a noisy venue downstairs, from where a lot of din comes. It's so loud that it really prevents you from sleeping. If you tell the reception, they'll just say they are sorry and they will slate the place downstairs, but at the same time they will promote it as much as they can to other guests as soon as you turn your back.

You need to pay £1.00 in order to be given a towel. That's ridiculous. It means you can't have a shower otherwise, unless you have your own towel. They really try to dissuade you from having showers by making you pay for the towels and by not doing anything to stop the showers from smelling badly.

They offer free internet, but it's really slow and there's not connection in the rooms. Only in the communal lounge, where it is impossible to find a seat to sit down and use your computer as there are just too few stairs and spaces for everyone.

Most people there (staff included!) speak either very basic (and sloppy) or no english. That makes it hard to communicate too and express needs or requests or even general inquiries that you may have.

I suggest no one should go for this place when looking for an accommodation in Bristol.

Hi Simon, thank you for having stayed with us two weeks, it's a really long time to spend in a place that you don't like at all! We know to not be the perfect hostel, but we always try to meet the needs of our guests with care, passion and personal commitment. We are really sorry we didn't succeed with you as well, at least we are sure to have given you a good inspiration to write a successful horror fiction novel. Rock'n'Bowl Staff Rock'n'Bowl staff

To be honest the concept of this place is pretty attractive, however the place is overall a big mess. I´ve stayed in crappy hostels but this one is BEYOND crappy. Obviously the place is DIRTY, the toilets and showers....can make you cry. The kitchen... well, everything is dirty so I wouldn´t dare to eat there again. People is random in a bad way, they don´t care placing a single girl in a room full of over 40 year old men. But the WORST part of this place is the staff. The staff is basically people taking breaks and hanging out instead of doing their job, so everything is filthy, they have no idea of the city, prices, or anything, some of them can´t even speak english in England.... :(. But the worst part, was the guy at the reception, a Mike "the situation" look alike, who told us there was an actual breakfast, when there wasn´t and got pissed when we asked about the 20GBP extra change, after 5 or more minutes he finally said it was a mandatory deposit. The only good thing about the hostel is that at least at the bowling place they play good music. Ruined my holidays and my cigarettes were STOLEN.

This Hostel is a complete Joke! I paid about 85!!!!£ for 2 Nights
Everything is dirty, from the kitchen to the bathroom and the rooms.
The rooms are so small and tight that you only just have enough space to squeeze through. I almost choked to death in my 6 bedroom room. The whole Hostel smells like at least 5 people must‘ve DIED in there.
It‘s not possible to lock away your belongings and the people in this Hostel are either drug addicts or psychos.
The so-called „Breakfast“ literally was Toast, Butter and Jam

I left after one sleepless night and booked a very expensive Hotel room but it didn‘t even bother me anymore because I was just happy to get away from this absolutely disgusting place. It completely ruined my trip to Bristol.

The people that run / own this Hostel should be ashamed of themselves
Stay away from this place at all costs!!

I waited over half an hour to use the men’s cubicle as one was broken. Occupied the whole time by a guy rolling a joint who asked me to go away to let him finish. Complained and left immediately. Got deposit back but no refund. Disgusted.

This place is not like the other hostels, and not in a good way either. I seemed to be the only english speaking person there, everyone else seemed to be living there for some weird reason. It was also full of old people, including this old man who ate his sandwich in a disgusting manner.. listening to his lips smack nearly made me vomit. There was no escape because my 4 dorm room was impossible to be in because it was that small. God forbid 4 people actually stayed there and all had luggage.. there would be no room to breathe or move. Also couldnt do laundry because the people living there seemed to have permanent claim to it. No atmosphere at all, awkward and horrid. Only positive was the showers were big which allowed for someone to get changed and dry themselves without the normal struggle that comes with hostel showers. If your a solo english speaking person in Bristol i highly recommend to try the other hostel in Bristol.
