I've stayed in a lot of hostels in my life, but this is by far THE WORST hostel I've ever stayed in. This is not a hostel with a bar downstairs. This is a nightclub with a few beds upstairs. It was the cheapest accommodation in Bristol, which is why we booked it, and there was a warning about loud music, however this experience far exceeded our lowest expectations. We stayed in a 12 bed dorm, and it looks like they stack as many bunk beds together as they could, some of which are almost falling apart. I didn't feel safe going up and down my bed. The last bunk bed in the room, the ladder to go up to the top bed was right behind the room door, so if anyone came in could easily hit the person using the ladder at the same moment. There were metal cages under the beds for our belongings, but the top part was non existent, so even though we brought our own padlocks, there was no way to lock our stuff in, and that didn't feel safe. The room constantly smelt, as due to the music, it was impossible to open the windows. I can't imagine being in this hostel in the middle of the summer. With the windows open, if feels like you're right in the middle of the nightclub. The showers were ok, and there are laundry facilities. However, they have some portable toilet/showers that are made of the cheapest possible material, the walls were moving at the slightest touch and the water taps on a few of them were leaking. To be fair though, they were clean at any time of the day that we used them. We never really saw any staff, except for the security people outside and at the bar, and they were nice and friendly, they gave us recommendations for the town, even though it's not their job. The reception is only open certain hours and again we didn't feel safe, as there was no one we could contact if something went wrong or if there was an emergency. Other guests were loud and annoying even after the nightclub closed, and they continued drinking in the corridor or had room parties. Since there was no night reception, there was no one to shut down those parties. If there was anyone at reception, we could have notified so they could talk to these guests. Also, since reception was never there, I couldn't ask for a hairdryer (we saw online that there was a possibility). The only good thing about this property is its location. It's very central, so you can walk anywhere from there. If you don't get any sleep though, is it even worth staying in a better location? I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Sleeping barely 3 hours every night is not worth the relatively low cost of this so called "accommodation".…
