I've stayed in a lot of hostels in my life, but this is by far THE WORST hostel I've ever stayed in. This is not a hostel with a bar downstairs. This is a nightclub with a few beds upstairs. It was the cheapest accommodation in Bristol, which is why we booked it, and there was a warning about loud music, however this experience far exceeded our lowest expectations. We stayed in a 12 bed dorm, and it looks like they stack as many bunk beds together as they could, some of which are almost falling apart. I didn't feel safe going up and down my bed. The last bunk bed in the room, the ladder to go up to the top bed was right behind the room door, so if anyone came in could easily hit the person using the ladder at the same moment. There were metal cages under the beds for our belongings, but the top part was non existent, so even though we brought our own padlocks, there was no way to lock our stuff in, and that didn't feel safe. The room constantly smelt, as due to the music, it was impossible to open the windows. I can't imagine being in this hostel in the middle of the summer. With the windows open, if feels like you're right in the middle of the nightclub. The showers were ok, and there are laundry facilities. However, they have some portable toilet/showers that are made of the cheapest possible material, the walls were moving at the slightest touch and the water taps on a few of them were leaking. To be fair though, they were clean at any time of the day that we used them. We never really saw any staff, except for the security people outside and at the bar, and they were nice and friendly, they gave us recommendations for the town, even though it's not their job. The reception is only open certain hours and again we didn't feel safe, as there was no one we could contact if something went wrong or if there was an emergency. Other guests were loud and annoying even after the nightclub closed, and they continued drinking in the corridor or had room parties. Since there was no night reception, there was no one to shut down those parties. If there was anyone at reception, we could have notified so they could talk to these guests. Also, since reception was never there, I couldn't ask for a hairdryer (we saw online that there was a possibility). The only good thing about this property is its location. It's very central, so you can walk anywhere from there. If you don't get any sleep though, is it even worth staying in a better location? I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Sleeping barely 3 hours every night is not worth the relatively low cost of this so called "accommodation".

We were a stag party of 14. And stayed for two nights. The rooms were clean and secure. Facilities average. Reception staff helpful. Decent location. Ideal for a stag party and value for money. The showers were ice cold one morning but we’re ok again a few hours later

Ive never had an experince in a hostel that has filled me with all the 5 basic human emotions, fear, sadness, happiness, anger and disgust. Upon arrival,we were escorted to our room in handcuffs and a straightjacket, the room was large and spacious, the padded floors and walls were comfortable.really apreciate being allowed to smoke inside the room but the bars did really get in the way. Clean showers and toilets, impressed as my constant ibs troubles keep me going back and forth throughout the night. Few pubes on the toilet seat but nothing dire. Had a kick about in the community kitchen to celebrate the footie, come on torquay!!! It's coming home It's coming home It's coming Football's coming home It's coming home It's coming home It's coming Football's coming home It's coming home It's coming home It's coming Football's coming home Absolutely fantastic experience, 10/10 Would go back but the barman from the lanes in the basement pub has a warrant out for my immediate arrest, but i dont wanna talk about that x

We slept in a 20 person bed room (2 girls) and felt completely uncomfortable our whole stay long. It was very very dirty especially the toilets looked like the have never been cleaned and in general all areas where dirty/smelly and weird. We were in a room with only men and felt very unsafe. We were not able to lock our luggage as the locks were broken. Would not recommend this hostel especially not for girls

I really do not recommend staying here. We couldn't get any sleep at all throughout the night due to the insanely loud music playing downstairs in what I suppose was a bowling alley/club. The bed was actually SHAKING from the bass. The kitchen was big but overcrowded and actually gave me anxiety. The rooms had no space to store away your luggage and valuables. Felt really unsafe. The whole atmosphere was a bit sketchy. The toilets were okay and the staff was nice enough but I would've happily paid a few pounds more for a bit of sleep.

Stayed here in Jan 2020 for a weekend for a stag do. Worked really well for us as a group, but perhaps a large part of that was that we didn’t return to the hostel until the early hours so weren’t kept awake by the noise from the club below as others have described, and secondly, we had private dorms which made any possible issues of security and comfort redundant. Positives 1) Location - couldn’t be more central 2) Cost - great value 3) Beds - very comfortable mattress, very warm duvet, all clean 4) Twin sockets per bed 5) Safe - hostel dorms and communal rooms accessible only with key cards 6) Showers - clean, hot, pretty powerful Negatives 1) Breakfast - was fine, but very limited (toast or cereal) 2) Dorm curtains - not usable/can’t be drawn so no ability to keep out external lights or daylight in morning 3) Noise - weekend music from club beneath goes on until 3am and the bed-frames suffer heavy vibration from the base speakers 4) Bathroom Sinks (and to a lesser degree toilets) - usable but far from clean 5) Towels - not provided (not a problem necessarily) but bring your own or rent one from the hostel. In summary - great for a night or two under certain conditions and for certain people. Would not recommend if you plan on having early nights or prefer more luxurious accommodation.

Nice to come back and stay again, it's had a makeover much more modern and practical, ping pong, TVs and football table in the common room. Beds are comfy, the buildings clean. They have both single sex bathrooms and private bathrooms upstairs, towels are a £1 at reception. Bristols great this time of year.

The hostel is nice and big, plenty of room for eating and relaxing. Downstairs in The Lanes has a bowling alley, pizza and Live music concerts, we got a Free invite because we were guests upstairs. Bathrooms clean, comfortable bed and great central location.

This Hostel is a complete Joke! I paid about 85!!!!£ for 2 Nights Everything is dirty, from the kitchen to the bathroom and the rooms. The rooms are so small and tight that you only just have enough space to squeeze through. I almost choked to death in my 6 bedroom room. The whole Hostel smells like at least 5 people must‘ve DIED in there. It‘s not possible to lock away your belongings and the people in this Hostel are either drug addicts or psychos. The so-called „Breakfast“ literally was Toast, Butter and Jam I left after one sleepless night and booked a very expensive Hotel room but it didn‘t even bother me anymore because I was just happy to get away from this absolutely disgusting place. It completely ruined my trip to Bristol. The people that run / own this Hostel should be ashamed of themselves Stay away from this place at all costs!!

We were 3 friends and just could not sleep at all! The place is incredibly loud (above a club and bowling with techno music until 3am! + people shouting in the street all night long) There are no curtains, no towels. The windows could not be closed. The bathrooms are dirty and the common spaces are creepy... I cannot imagine we paid 40£ each for a night. DON'T GO THERE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP!
