Stayed here with 14 mates for a stag weekend. Cannot complain. Not only is it a decent hostel, the location is superb. Would and have recommended this to friends. Enjoy. Remember to take a towel if you decide to go...

Just returned from a 2 night stay with my husband and 7 yr old. We had a 3 bed dorm on the 5th floor. The room was spacious and clean with a fantastic view over the harbour. Lovely communal areas and children made to feel very welcome in the bar. Made a coffee in the self catering kitchen. Very clean... More

Yes, I stayed here at easter and the lift was not working. I returned in April and it was ok. So this visit, arriving after midnight, after a crowded flight and huge delays at Bristol airport, I was unimpressed to be given a room on the top floor, and told the lift was not working. The problem with my room... More

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are sorry you experienced problems with our lift, this is something we are trying to fix as we do understand how frustrating it can be when its broken. The YHA is trying to reduce our environmental impact which is why we have removed paper towels from the... More

I went with my husband and our young sons (ages 7 and 10) for a coffee on Saturday afternoon. The lady who served us was friendly and helpful. My oldest son wanted to sit upstairs on the mezzanine floor so rushed off, so my husband and other son went to join him. I needed to use the toilet which meant... More

Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry you experienced abusive behaviour from one of guests, I was made aware of this situation on Saturday afternoon and managed to speak to the gentlemen concerned. He adamantly denied barking but did admit he was abusive when confront by yourself. He was warned that we do not tolerate any abusive behaviour towards... More

Our room was really shonky which was disappointing as this was my children's first YHA experience and it has put them off using YHA ever again. I thought YHA could offer us endless travel opportunities but that has to be rethought. Ensuite door rotten leaving wide gap at bottom so door didn't block out light that automatically flashed on and... More

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback about your stay. We are really sorry to hear that your room didn't meet your expectations. We are aware there is a problem with the shower room door and it is being replaced with the addition of a magnetic closer which will address the issue of the light flickering... More

The only positive about the YHA Bristol is the location - very central, directly near pubs, restaurants, shops, ... The negative ones are: Had to change rooms!!?! (While room changing I had to store my luggage in the luggageroom for a day; including Out- and Re-Check-In!), dirty floors in the rooms, cold atmosphere in the rooms and floors, smelly, very... I have stayed in my share of hostels over the years and YHA Bristol definitely makes it to my top three. I had emailed them beforehand to let them know I had two heavy suitcases and they'd made a note of it, so I was allocated a room on the 4th floor (the lift only goes so far) which was... More

We stayed here on a stag do, the location was perfect, bars opposite on the harbour, the city centre a short walk, with more pubs, clubs and food options. Rooms were ideal for the price. Alice on reception was really helpful in organising taxis for us to get to the west country games (check this out if your looking for... More

The location is good, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. My roommates were students not interested in conversing, so not so great in that respect. Breakfast must be paid for, and was just okay. Everything was satisfactory, a place to sleep while exploring bristol.
