We stayed for 2 nights with some friends who had made the booking. Sue and Chris made us very welcome. The rooms and facilities were super. Lots of thoughtful details, plenty of storage, excellent toiletries, fabulous breakfast choices. We were offered tea and homemade scones on arrival, which we had in their lovely garden.

A friend and I booked rooms to stay here during the Hay Festival and we struck lucky. The hosts, Sue and Chris, were very welcoming and they had breakfast with us every morning. That was a really nice start to each day - and the breakfasts were delicious too. Even home made bread some days...I have no complaints and would... More

We felt welcome and at home here. Generous and comfortable; lovely variety of delicious breakfast dishes; every thought, down to very nice toiletries. Walks from the door, good places to eat within reach, enjoyable conversation.

Had a very comfortable stay here last week. We booked the ‘Owl’s Roost’ room which had a large comfortable bed and huge bathroom with super views towards the Black Mountains. We were well looked after by Sue and Chris, a sociable couple with a great collection of books and magazines to browse through. We had a delicious evening meal on... More

I spotted a small article in the Telegraph last year which said that Chris was a keen and very knowledgeable bird man and that he would take guests on a Dawn Chorus morning so we booked a weekend in Rock Cottage. If you have never been up especially for a Dawn Chorus I urge you to do it at least... More

Take a detailed map with you to get to this gem of a B&B; it's almost all single track although Rock Road itself is on the satnav; most of the surrounding roads are unnamed. The owners are friendly and very helpful, our room (Owls Roost) was spotless and comfortable, breakfast is generous. Good recommendations for local restaurants and best of... More

A warm welcome to a very clean and comfortable stay. The location was close to Abbey Dore for a choral concert and there are nice walks in the surrounding hills. A very relaxing location and it was a delight to have complete silence in the evenings. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. The breakfast is... More

Fabulous B & B close to the Black Mountains. Warm welcome from the proprieters, Chris and Sue, who have a lovely cottage with a charming garden and orchard which is used to make the home made jams and marmalades on the breakfast table The breakfast is quite simply the best we have had, not just at a B &B but... It was like arriving at a friend's house when we came in from the dark and cold after an awful Friday journey. Everywhere was warm and there was a delicious smell of cooking, which turned out to be the biggest dinner we have had in years. Sue and Chris are great company and look after you really well. Breakfasts were... More
