Stayed two nights here. Had a wonderful time. The Castle in itself is just beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt so relaxed the whole time. We stayed in two different rooms and both were gorgeous. Really big and clean. Breakfast was simple but just what you wanted. Definitely could have stayed longer!

Beautiful location. New management have done a great job, warm friendly welcome. A nice touch I thought was you were encouraged to help yourself to wine or beer at the bar - pay on leaving. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace overlooking the harbour at sunset - memorable. (Also Enjoyed an excellent meal in Mary Anne's restaurant in the... More

Magical place to stay. Sharron, the general manager runs a terrifically friendly any very cozy B&B in a historical site. Full Irish breakfast was fabulous. Free strong Wifi. We stayed in the Gun Room, named after the man not the items absent from the room. Just off the breakfast room on lower level. Easy to bring bags in/out. Upstairs rooms... More

The Castle is an amazing building with a rich history in a beautiful setting overlooking a beautiful lake. Sharon, the young lady who looked after us explained that she and her husband had recently taken over the business and were in the process of refurbishing the rooms. Although we are from the UK, we were travelling with friends from Australia... More

The Wild Atlantic Way has opened up so many hidden gems that many of us would have by-passed, oblivious, in the past. On route to Baltimore we took in a section of the WAW which brought us to Castletownshend and The Castle cafe. Beautifully decorated, stylish ceramics, really polished service and high quality produce topped off with a STUNNING and... More

Doubt anyone could be disappointed twitch their experience here- just a fantastic place! Quite off the beaten path but well worth the trip! From pulling into the drive and the views of the water to the hostess taking you to your room, we adored every bit of the Castle.
