Having booked ahead and explained that a quiet time for two ladies just to talk over afternoon tea was needed, the staff and hotel completely fullfilled our wish. It was perfect. From the charming welcome to finding just the right room and table we were cosseted. Tea of choice and China cups. Then the sandwiches and many varieties of cake....

We are a group of retired Railway people with our partners, 12 of us in all, had lunch at the East Lodge Hotel today, and all of us, without exception agreed that the meal and the ambience was superb. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and is a beautiful old Derbyshire building, a really nice setting. We were seated...

My wife and I stayed here for the first time on New Years Eve and attended the 7 course black tie dinner. The food and service was excellent; all the staff were very helpful and friendly. You can tell a lot about a hotel by observing the interaction between the managers and the other staff; if like here they smile...

Brilliantly attentive waiting staff, without being intrusive and fabulous food. Added extras such as small canapés were much appreciated - and the homemade mince pie supplied with coffee at the end,...

We live locally & have enjoyed several visits here. This was a pre- Christmas evening meal for five of us. The staff and the spacious dining room and conservatory are always positives . The food was certainly tasty but not totally memorable , and the presentation was good although bring picky the prawn cocktail was huge for a starter. The...

We're frequent visitors and married here in May. We came for the festive lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our food. The only sad part was being too full to eat all the main course. The staff were friendly as always.

Visited the Chefs table for the 9 course menu and it was fantastic. Met at the door by lovely welcoming staff and served yummy Canapés and Prosecco in the lounge. I had the wine flight, glass of wine with each course to compliment the tasting experience. Waiter was excellent and attentive and knowledgeable of the wines. Ate turbot, duck, scallops,...
