We absolutely love this place, we have spent so much time at the farm over the years. Dorothy is an amazing host. It's the best breakfast in the world! The family are very friendly and also respect your privacy too. The local pubs are nice typical village pubs and its only a short way to experience other dining options. We...

recommend!! Stayed there quite a few times and consistently delightful, thank you. Will definitely return as delightful any time of year. Highlights are the views the friendliness, the breakfasts and the whole atmosphere of a special place to stay.

This is a really nice B and B that does a good breakfast and its in a stunning location in the heart of the countryside. Well worth staying here if you are looking for break in rural England or are on business in the area. The owners are nice people and will go out of their way to help you.

Had a really lovely time here last week with family. My sister had her dog which is a huge plus as she was made so welcome and loved playing with Louis, the owners sheepdog. Only briefly saw John as he is such a hard worker he is up during the early hours of the morning on this working farm. Dorothy...

have been going there for a few years now ,everything 100%,no extra charge for single room, location great, great food ,John & Dorothy excellent hosts, the three nights for £75 can not be beaten , don,t want it to sound too good or I might not be able to get a room ,but it is. Love love love it here. We have 3 sheepdogs and they love it too. Great views and two really good local pubs. Breakfast is great. Stayed here about 4 times now and we will keep going back. We call it our Doggie Holiday. Thanks john and Dorothy. X

have know the metcalfe family over 20 years and stayed at the on farm b@b many times , highly recommended , a friendly place and always a warm welcome with a pot of tea usually , keep up the good work dorothy and john .

This was a wonderful find. Dorothy is very welcoming and High Greenside is in a position you can only dream about. Our labradoodle Paddy was made to feel every bit as welcome as we were, perhaps even more so if that was possible as he followed Louis the sheepdog into every nook and cranny of the premises. Had a wonderful weekend at Greenside farm, great welcome from Dorothy with tea and biscuits. Lovely room with patio onto garden to let the dog out and great views. Perfect location for Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Room clean, spacious and comfy and delicious breakfast each morning. Lovely Sunday lunch at local Cross Keys pub where dog was allowed in....

The best first night of our holiday to Scotland. The welcome from Dorothy & John made you feel that you had known them forever ! Wonderful views , comfortable accomodation not to be faulted, and the BREAKFAST FANTASTIC !!!! Never taken our working Springer away before but the fun she had with the other dogs was a great half hour...
