We really enjoyed our stop off here for a meal-We were chatted to and served brilliantly by the staff who were informative about the lagers and the food. I recommend the french chicken and the potatoes dauphinoise are amazing! We also really enjoyed the steak pie and the sticky toffee pudding-so light, with gorgeous salted caramel sauce and lemon posset... More

This is an outstanding hotel and perfect for an overnight stay on the long haul up to Scotland. The rooms are extremely comfortable with lovely decor. The staff could not be more helpful and we had a very well prepared meal in the restaurant. An excellent choice of food all beautifully presented. We intend to return & make this the... More

This was a return visit to the King's Head as we had enjoyed our stay last year. The attractive building and its peaceful location is its primary attraction. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the food delicious. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, clean and with good quality bed linen. The public rooms are minimally decorated - clutter free but... Have eaten here quite a few times over the years have never been disappointed till lately , friends invited us out expecting the usual high standard of food, but my rack of Lamb was nothing but fat with a small amount of meat, had we been on our own would have certainly sent it back as uneatable, but did not... We called in here for lunch on the way back from Scotland. Happy to say that our meals were delicious. The menu was not over extensive, but the food was well prepared and the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel is next to a stream in a pretty village location. The bar area (and toilet facilities)... More

We stayed in August 2016 midweek. The bedrooms are very comfortable although room 5 is next to the hotel drying room and can be very noisy with vibrations from the drying machines felt and heard in the room during the late afternoon 5-6 p.m. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall the food is good. The location is beautiful.... More

We visited this pub for an evening meal to celebrate a birthday. We were told to arrive for 7.15, which we did. It took an hour and a half for the main course to arrive. We had a 9 year old child with us who asked for some bread to stave off the hunger. He was given two tiny rolls... More

As we arrived the staff told us they weren't making any food but as there were multiple groups of people eating indoors they couldn't be bothered to make it for us, basically. They gave us burgers and chips for £15 and I would have still felt ripped off if I was expected to pay half of that. My friend then... More

Received a warm welcome at King's Head Hotel when renting golf clubs to play at the local course. Enjoyed drinks in the sun out front and had dinner here later on. Both the food, selection of beers and service were excellent. Pub has a nice atmosphere, very warm and homely. Will be eating here again for a Sunday lunch.

Very good ambience and food well cooked .Service ok,some of young staff could do with more training. Limited menu meant we only ate her once during our weeks stay in Ravenstonedale. It didn't seem as good as last year but perhaps going back is never a good thing. Included vegetables with all main courses was a big plus in these... More
