We were attending a funeral in the Village of a great friend and were lucky to book into the Kings Head. We were made very welcome and able to get into our room early. The whole accommodation was to a high standard in the room and public areas. The staff were very welcoming with high standards of food and drink....

With my mate we called into the pub for a quick drink. I wish I could have stayed longer ! The beer was really good and the beef sandwich spot on. Very clean and first class decorating . This is a proper pub ! The staff are really friendly and welcoming. We have stayed here in the past and the...

Stayed at the Kings ahead last week overnight for a birthday celebration. The pub is very well looked after and we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff. We enjoyed our evening meal and an excellent breakfast. Would happily return.

Visited here several times for meals and the last couple have been disappointing. We arrived today, having booked a table in advance, but were left standing at the bar while 2 waitresses (one, the older, seemed to be foh manager) bustled about getting coffees and settling others. No 'Hi, won't keep you long' and definitely no smile of greeting!! We...

We first reviewed The Kings Head back in 2012 shortly after it had opened following extensive refurbishment. We gave The Kings Head 5 stars and since that time have returned on a further 4 occasions when the 5 star standard was fully deserved. Having just returned from our 6th visit the rating has slipped back to 4 stars which is...

I understand that this place is under new management. They seem to be doing a very good job so far so it's hard to understand why 6 of us were the only diners on a wet November night. The food and the service was very, very good. We were on a weekend away and we all agreed that if we were...

Second visit to the Kings Head this year. Nice comfortable hotel with a good bar with some local real ales warmed by wood burning fires. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We stayed in Room 6 which is a nice quiet, spacious room at the furthest end of hotel. Nicely modernised, clean and comfortable. Dinner was very nice with local...

First time to the Kings Head - great little pub. Stayed in room 4 which was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Be warned the shower and bath do not accommodate anyone over 5 feet 8 due to a ceiling beam which runs directly above. Also a little noisy. Dinner was good and Service attentive. Would recommend the steak and Stilton pie....

Went with friends. Food was good and reasonable. My wife had steak pie, which was good but a little heavy (maybe we should have expected that. While i had chicken (which I would recommend). Good stock of different beers and larger.

Stayed overnight with dinner. Steak pie and rack of lamb were good. The scallops starters with a trace of pea puree were disappointing. The lemon assiette special was very disappointing with a nice lemon posset but only a scrape of lemon curd, and some pleasant lemon shortbread, the sticky toffee pudding was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was...
