What a lovely Backpacker-Hostel. More than that: a jewel. The rooms aesthetically furnished. The whole architecture creates a warm, peaceful atmosphere. Great kitchen. We booked through BBH NZ. Why they name it Jandal Palace I don't know. Friendly owner. Very good place for surfers.

Stayed here in 2016 after running the Hillary skyrace. I was in a dorm room and although, there were about 6 beds (maybe more), it didn't feel crowded. The bed itself was really comfortable and the room was massive and bright with a balcony attached. The bathroom facilities were really clean and the kitchen was huge and well-stocked. The only...

Located in a beautiful environment, this hostel offers a fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful outdoor area with curious chicken interested very much in your food and even drinks. The facilities are clean, the beds okay. Two things I did not like too much: 1) The prices are a too high. For not even 10 NZD more I got a...

This place is so awesome! Had a blast there. I was there for 7 days and rented a car. That was perfect. About an 1 hour in to Auckland. Jeff the owner is awesome and the people you meet there aswell. Great place if you want to surf. Highly recommend. Just awesome!

Piha Homestay is, without a doubt, the best hostel I have ever been to. I stayed there for 5 days and have no regrets. It's situated in the secluded piha valley but with easy access to the beach and walking tracks. Geoff has done amazingly well in making the place by hand; there's big glass north facing windows, hidden wooden...

First off, anyone visiting Auckland needs to go to Piha. Secondly, if you're going to Piha, you need to stay here...secluded location, small number of guests, excellent staff, surrounded by trees, chickens roaming free, short walk to the beach...it's a no-brainer!! Only bad thing was that I was only there overnight one night as part of a surfing trip, really...

Only had one night here and it was well worth the visit. Easy walks to the waterfall and the beach. Very comfortable and relaxing place. The two girls working there was very nice and sweet. And nothing beats the fresh layer chicken eggs for breakfast.

A last minute decision to go to Piha was the best decision I made for our New Zealand trip. Needed a place to relax that was like home. Great accommodation located close to the local shops, beach and food places. Great walks just down the road and around the area. Awesome facilities, comfortable beds and very clean. Collection of movies...

The hotel is built by the owner himself and it was really amazing. The hostel was surrounded by a big forest and the beauty of nature. It just like living in my own home during my stay in Piha Beach Stay ,enjoyed the full-equipped facilities , watched movie, everything were just perfect !! I will definitely come back here again...

terrible service. I have tried to make contact with the owner and it would take weeks for a reply, he would tell us that he would call back and never did. needless to say we were unable to book and i usually wouldn't write a bad review but i feel personally disrespected and as if a month of my time...

Simply a spiteful review after a request was declined for holding a wedding at the property. We are not a venue for weddings. This is another reminder to myself why.
