I spent 4 amazing days with my daughter and her 2 kids at the Libertad jungle lodge. It was an experience of a lifetime. We saw so much wildlife from pink dolphins to sloths. Our guide was awesome. He showed us the medicinal plants in the jungle. The kids fished and caught lots of piranhas. The food was delicious. The entire staff is very accommodating. I highly recommend this place which is run as a cooperative and supports families who live in the village next door.
The Libertad Jungle Lodge in Iquitos is a hidden gem in the Amazon jungle. The accommodations are pristine and healing, making it the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lodge offers a wide range of activities, from jungle hikes to fishing, and the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, especially with the guidance of Gumer and Joel. They are enthusiastic and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The warm and friendly villagers add to the overall charm of the lodge. On the last day, we encountered a roadblock situation, but the lodge staff went above and beyond to negotiate and pay extra to the road blockers to send us back to the airport safely and did not ask for any extra charge. We were so grateful for their efforts and tipped them as much as we could afford. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a unique and authentic jungle experience.…
Staying at Libertad Jungle Lodge was absolutely amazing. Everything worked 100% and our guides were great. If you want to experience a unique stay in the Amazon, choose Libertad. Petr and Helena Czech republic
Libertad is an extremely well maintained place and everyone at the village is super friendly! The rooms have everything you need, the meals are freshly prepared and super tasty. All meals are accompanied by fresh exotic fruit juices. There's plenty to do, see and explore. You can go and watch the pink dolphins, feed the monkeys, get super close to sloths, spiders, caymans as well as all other jungle animals. The guides are super knowledgeable and super friendly. Our guide was Kumar and he was just amazing, we really felt safe and cared for. Kumar did beyond his best to make sure we enjoy our stay and we loved every jointly spent minute. Don't hesitate for a minute - book! It will prove to be one of the greatest adventures of your lifetime!
Our trip in the Amazon, and particularly our time at Libertad has been one of the most rewarding and memorable times travelling. My and I are in our 50s and did a lot of backpacking in Asia when we were young, so we are not afraid of a bit of discomfort getting to where we want to go. We took an 18 hr boat from Leticia Colombia to Iquitos (plenty of adventure along the way), and from Iquitos the staff at Libertad took care of everything: transfers, food, and days full of adventure. We did 3 nights and we could have stayed longer. We swam and fished and hiked and saw all kinds of things I'd never knew existed. Manolo spoke fluent english, and together with Mario kept and excited and fun agenda. It was our second week in the Amazon, but in hindsight I would have spent more time at Libertad. Meeting people next door in the community was as rewarding as going into the jungle. Its wonderful to be reminded of what life can be - relaxed, fun, without stress. While Libertad is not a luxury hotel by any means, we lacked for nothing. It was fun and so educational. We can't recommend it enough. The food was varied and very healthy. The beer at the end of the day cold and well shared. The people #1.…
We had a lot of fun during our 4 day trip in Libertad! We enjoyed the tours, food and the lodge was just perfect. Our focus was to see as much animals as possible and our guides tried their best to show us the most of the jungle. I would recommend this trip to everyone going to Peru :)
Libertad was a wonderful place to experience the Amazon. My partner and I felt like we were in very safe hands the entire time. The food was tasty, the room was cosy, the excursions were well tailored and we felt that everyone went above and beyond to make us feel immersed in the jungle and wildlife.
Highly recommend - well organised - customisation to your requirements From being picked up to being droped off at the airport perfectly organised. The lodge is community run basic but cute clean and great food. Our guide was knowledgable and easily adjusted the multitude of available excursions to our preference. It was a pleasure to stay at this lodge and we do highly recommend it.
We had the best experience here, our knowledgeable tour guide Manolo gave us a really amazing experience here, and our strong boat driver Super Mario, took us to see so many lovely animals in the Amazon Rainforest! The food here are really delicious too, and the fresh juice made we knew some new fruits! The people are so kindly, and the children in the village are really cute, really miss them now! We will definitely come back and stay longer, it's really worth to visit here, you will take home so many amazing memories!
Our trip to the Amazone was great. We really enjoyed it and the fact that we could make up our own schedule. The only downside was that sometimes there was not enough to eat for my boyfriend (he sometimes asked for more but there wasn’t). Other than that the food was great and our guide Larry really showed us everything we wanted. Would recommend!
