We found the staff to be wonderful and overall experience (including day tours and meals) to be fantastic. Plenty of birds, monkeys and pink dolphins nearby. Make sure you get out on a nighttime boatride for a sunset you will never forget. Note: there are many very large spiders at night given the raw, natural surroundings. Bug spray and light... More

My family and I recently visited Pacaya Samiria Lodge for a 6 day visit. The time spent there as absolutely amazing and something me and my children will never forget. Our guide Ray was intelligent, kind and had a great sense of humor. He was attentive to all of our needs whether we needed to slow down on a hike,... More

Our Amazon adventure was amazing with the perfect mixture of animals and elegance due to everyone at the Pacaya Samaria Amazon Lodge. Rey, our guide, is the King of the Jungle. We saw macaws, pink dolphins, an anaconda, a rainbow Boa, monkeys, lizards, huge spiders, and so many cool birds that I still cannot remember their names. Rogella sailed our... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge. I booked for 4 nights but we had flight delays and missed connections, so we ended up spending only 3 nights. I would say that's a minimum you should plan for if you are going all the way there to be able to enjoy what the place has to offer.... More

It was only by a recommendation by the Hotel Manager of the only 5 star hotel in Iquitos, Peru, the Hotel El Dorado Plaza did I find the Pacaya Simiria Amazon Lodge. Mr. Oscar informed me that I would be very happy there and then introduced me to the general manager of the lodge, Maria Elena Lau. I was picked... More

After 10 years of living in Peru, and trying many different lodges located in the Iquitos Amazon jungle area, in 2010, I decided that the Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge was THE best option. Our study abroad students were looking for that National Geographic Amazon experience that they had watched on tv for years. They wanted an authentic look at the... More

Guide met us at airport in Iquitos with driver. After 1.5 hr drive to Nauta, Peru (end of the road), we had lunch in the village and boarded a motorboat for the lodge, about a 30 minute ride deeper into the Amazon. We stayed 4 nights at the lodge. Superb staff. Meals included in our package (Green Tracks Travel Agency... More

We traveled as a family with our 7 year old and stayed 4 days/3 nights and we'd go back in a heartbeat. Rey, our guide, was well prepared, friendly, curious, solicitous of our interests and needs, and he speaks excellent English (the non-Spanish-speaking members of our group didn't know how good they had it with Rey until later in our... My husband and I spent a week at Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge with Rey as our incredible guide and mentor. The lodge is in the jungle with no hot water and electricity from 6-10 pm, so don't expect the Hyatt.
