Spent 2 nights after being made redundant. Beautiful superior room which was huge. this was our second visit so knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Wi Fi is almost non existent in all areas of the hotel. Great food. Caters fairly well for Gluten free people. Amazing battered fish which was not on the menu. Short drive to... More

This is a lovely, airy, friendly and comfortable place, situated close to Junction 36 of the M6 and roughly midway between Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale. The food is generally very good. My "twice-baked Lancashire Cheese soufflé was excellent and the lamb rump that followed just melted in the mouth. Sticky toffee pudding lacked the lightness of some of its Cumbrian... More

Had lunch at the Plough Inn and once again I wasn't disappointed. The food is excellent and not too pricey. Attention to presentation and local products shows in this great restaurant. Downside was we couldn't book two rooms for two nights at Christmas as they want you to book ALL six rooms for the two nights. A bit short sighted... More

We stayed in Musgrave, the room was very well appointed and very spacious. Slight concern about the noise of the kitchen extract, it does go off at night but it starts again for breakfast. It wasn't a problem for us as we we're up early but would be annoying if you wanted a lie in. The room is at a... More

After being recommended to us I went for a meal with the girlfriend on an evening and the recommendation was justified. Service was excellent, all staff had smiles on their faces and were very attentive. We shared the baked Camembert for started which came with some lovely homemade bread. Had the lamb as a main and it was excellent. We... More

We've eaten at The Plough on several occasions and the food is always superb. This time we were lucky enough to be away with friends for the weekend so we happened to find The Plough had a suite which sleeps 4 (across 2 separate bedrooms). The accommodation was ideal, in the signature lakeland style, with roll top bath, and a... More

We ordered 1 fish and chips and 1 steak for dinner around 7pm, they arrived quickly even though there were quite a few people in the restaurant. The fish was deep fried and was a little greasy but inside the fish was great. A very enjoyable meal. Cost was £38 which included 1 beer and 1 cider. They had an... More
