Came across this splendid hotel by chance on our way back to Kirkby Lonsdale and were surprised with the all round quality. Superbly furnished, polite staff and good food with nothing to fault. We'll be back to stay next time.

We ate here 5pm on a quiet Tuesday. 2 adults, 1 child. The food was amazing - fresh, tasty, good size portions and well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The venue is spacious, cosy, smart and welcoming.

Staying the night here on the way to Scotland. What a find, our room is spacious and has everything we need. Everything is really good quality and very tasteful. The young staff are delightful, pleasant and friendly. Dinner was very good with a good choice.

Traveling South, used trip advisor to find a place to have lunch close by. Found the Plough on the app, it looked good so turned off motorway, and only a mile off our journey. Pleasantly surprised, nice decor, good food, nice staff. Deserts sounded great, so shared a few to share, and they were great. Worth a visit.

Stayed for a stopover en route to the Lake District. Arrived at 9 pm after an epic frustrating drive . Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and took our order over the phone so we sat down and our meal came very quickly. Friendly service , great food . Amazing suite with a fantastic comfortable bed and then a... More

Sunday evening meal. Beautiful decor was very impressed. We both tried the burger and chips with a side order of onion rings.....I was tempted with the herb chicken and now wished I had tried it. The burger was definitely home made and chips where nice. My only problem was total lack of taste ...just found it a bit of a... More

This place was recommended to us by my brother in law, who, apart from lending me his sister for 40 years, is generally unreliable. After renewing our wedding vows we needed somewhere to stay en route to the Lakes for four days.A phone call was made and we discovered which rooms were still available and looked at the images online. We chose the... We had an excellent meal in very pleasant surroundings. The food for all 4 diners was very good, we enjoyed excellent service from friendly and helpful staff. They took my food allergies very seriously and adapted my meal accordingly. We live locally and will definitely return with friends. Thank you.

We wanted somewhere better for lunch than M6 services, so we found the Plough in the Good Pub Guide - it's a couple of miles off the motorway. It lived up to its description as the food was good with unusual twists at a reasonable price.
