Really enjoyed a short break at the Pilgrims. Beautiful setting, looking across a stunning valley. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food both at breakfast and evening meal, making adjustments for my dietary needs with no fuss. Would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights in mid-August using a buyagift present we received. We were welcomed well and offered a tour (which we turned down as we always like to settle and then explore ourselves so the young lady quickly pointed out the main areas bar, etc.), the room was well maintained with a view of the front car... Stayed here for two very comfortable nights. Our room (18, double room with garden view) had a better view than expected from other reviewers comments. Although it does overlook the carpark there is more greenery than gravel, and the large grounds out the back (seen from the bathroom) provide a wonderful foreground to some atmospheric valley views. The room and... More

We were disappointed with the facilities and underwhelmed by the welcome provided. Contrary to advertised information W-fi is not available throughout the Hotel. When I mentioned the difficulty of getting a signal in our ground floor bedroom to one of the management I got the curt reply "Whose problem is that?". The 'double-glazed' window in our bedroom was partly misted-over... More

Many thanks to Tripadvisor for allowing the business to respond to this misleading review. The headline to the review is confusing as neither of the points raised are expanded upon in the review. The rest of it is made up misleading half truths which have been exaggerated in a quite scurrilous manner in our opinion. Previous reviews point to quite... More

Absoutely faultless! The ambience, staff, service, our room (21) and the food were excellent. Even the stonking great chimney right outside our bedroom window partially restricting the view could not dampen the experience of staying at this hotel. The room was clean , well appointed and comfortable - especially the four-poster bed. Provided a few giggles when trying to get... More

We arrived late in the evening, having no reservation. The staff were pleasant and helpful and soon had a double room with a view for the night. As they serve food until 9:45 in the evening we booked a table and we pleasantly surprised with the menu. The dining room was busy but we did not have to wait long... More

Recently stayed at this hotel for one night Paid extra for a room with a view and it was well worth it lovely hill top view of mountains within lovely grounds. Bed was very comfortable and hotel very quiet despite there being lots of people staying. Food was excellent with good choice and very fast and friendly service Only criticism... More

We returned to the Pilgrim for dinner to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary as this was where we had our reception. The hotel has not changed much in ten years, it still remains a charming old country hotel, there have been some improvements like the refurbishment of the ladies toilet and redecoration of the bar & lounge. There was plenty... More
