Great campsites in the forest and a beautiful sandy beach. Clean amenities-very nice showers too. I just loved the location: the beach for swimming, the river to explore, the caves... It was fantastic! Highly recommend staying here when camping.

My Wife and I went out on the Pirate Tour Charter boat out of Bamfield a few times this week, What a Gas!!! Captain Paul was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable about the area. He knew exactly where the whales were so we went whale watching. He knew exactly where to catch the big ling cod so we went and... More

Not sure what happened to the people who panned this campground. We found the staff helpful and friendly. Showers were hot and clean. Restrooms clean and odor free when we were there. Great beach to walk and sit on. Saw Gray Whales just offshore rolling themselves in the mild surf. We preferred the campsites along the ocean side.

Stayed 3 days, 2 nights. Great access so west coast beach. Was able to have campfire. Flushing toilets and potable water and showers (for a price). A little pricey but worth it for the tidy, friendly, safe.

We camped here in July with three families. The road to get there is horrible but well worth the drive. Our campsite was right at the edge of the beach. The beach is beautiful; the whales came into the bay two of the three nights we were there. I found the staff friendly, the bathrooms and showers clean. Had to... More

a beautiful area, with a gorgeous beach at one end of the West Coast trail. It's too bad the campground operation is a nickel and dime gouge. They charge extra for another tent, which seems ridiculous. We had to pay extra for our kids to sleep in a separate tent. The campers beside us had 3 vehicles and a massive... More

We stayed at the Pachena Bay Campground for 3 days/2 nights at the end of May. It was a bit on the cool side (it's on the west coast so you must be prepared for this) at night but during the day it was warm and sunny. The first night we were there we were all alone in the campsite... More

This place is my new favorite spot. The beach at the campground is amazing, with whales breaching, ospreys fishing, fine hot sand, and big enough to have your own space. The campsite was reasonably placed; the thick forest breaks the ocean wind quite well and keeps the sun from cooking you out of the tent too early, and compared to... More

I still cannot believe how expensive it was for 1 person in a 1 man tent (no vehicle) .... $28 + extra $2 for 8minutes of shower time. I chose hot (turned out to be warm) - but you still have to pay for a cold one. Plus I was woken up at 8am by construction machines putting in a... More

My opinion of the drive out there is that it was not pleasant. It takes about the same two hours to drive here from Port Alberni as it does to Tofino, but the Tofino drive is quite pleasant. The drive to Bamfield is VERY bumpy, dirty and sparse. No views the entire way. Was real glad when it was over.... More
