My wife and I spent two nights here in the Love Birds room the last week of June 2022. The Lodge is old with a lot of character, located on a hill about a 5 minute walk from Cameron Falls. The room is small when compared to a hotel room but certainly adequate for our 2 night stay. Wonderful service provided by the hostess, Jeanne. A nice park to walk in across the street where we saw a fawn laying beside the walkway. An adult deer seen laying in the back yard of a neighbor next door to the Lodge. We had a supper at Red Rock Trattoria which was a fine dinning experience and we had requested a table by the window. Lunch at Thirsty Bear where we shared the best burger I've had in a long time.
Our adult children decided to give Mom and Dad a special anniversary gift and treated us to two nights in the same lodge and same room we used on our honeymoon 64 years ago. I use the word time capsule as it is almost exactly as it was when we came the first time. Of course, it has been appropriately updated and modernized yet in such a way as to preserve the quaintness and feel of its historic past. Jeanne our hostess went way beyond "a friendly atmosphere" as she treated us like royalty, making our visit forever memorable. We loved our first stay there and on our second visit we basked in the warm memories of our happy 64 years together which all started here. If you want a stay to remember and not just a room we recommend this unique Northland Lodge in its wonderful setting.…
Overall staff were friendly in this family run business. Muffin and tea and coffee were provided in the morning. Location is good, short walk to town. Don't book room 9 if you are sensitive to mold. There is some mold in the bathroom. Staff informed they said they would have it taken care of.
The property is older with tiny bathrooms and furnished mostly with assorted vintage items, but gets top marks for being clean, quiet and comfortable. Just a few blocks / 5 minute walk from "downtown" Waterton and the waterfront. The price is more reasonable than most decent properties within the village. We would have appreciated a more substantial breakfast prior to a day hiking in the park. While we enjoyed the muffins, jam and coffee, it would have been nice to have some other simple additions such as hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and oatmeal (we brought some of our own, which we heated in the microwave in our room).
Our host Jeanne was fantastic. Great stories in the AM over her fresh baked muffins and coffee. Deer and Big Horn sheep roaming the property and the park across the street. 100 meters from falls. Easy walk into town. Rustic rooms. Definitely like to visit again.
Having the entire lodge for my Mindful Photography Retreat exceeded all expectations. Our group of 11 received warm, friendly, welcoming, genuine care from our delightful hosts Jeanne and Valerie. The home made meals were delicious and the rooms so comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to book another group here again.
Jeannie made us feel right at home at the Northland. She was happy to accomodate my scent allergy, makes wonderful muffins, and gave us great information about what to see in the area. We look forward to visiting again. The location is quiet but close enough to town to walk in for dinner. It is also very close to the trailhead for Bertha Falls.
Great location. Historic ambience . Family run pride of service on display from checkin to checkout. Great muffins in the morning with Saskatoon berry jam coffee and juice. Outdoor on the line dried sheets for your bed. No tv's to reinforce why you came to Waterton . What more can anyone ask for?
What a great place, with tones of history of the area and the lodge itself. The Owner is fantastic. Great place to relax and enjoy all that waterton has to offer.Awesome saskatoon jam and syrup to go with baked goodies!!
Highlly recommend this homy, quaint super clean lodge. The bed was super comfortable. Great views, convenient location, and great people, very friendly, helpful staff. We had a great stay. We will be back for sure.
