Never having been to Waterton, much less Northland Lodge, I was nervous. Northland Lodge turned out to be the "perfect spot!". The mgr Stacy, immediately makes you feel like family...(seriously) The lodge is near downtown but not near the chaos & typical congestion...Its like living at home! One could socialize in the morning over free coffee, juice & muffins or... More

Rooms had very old decor and I felt they needed to be deep cleaned. Beds were super soft. Had to seek out the owner. Did not see her until we did. This may be the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for. The only plus is it is in a very quiet part of town. No... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay here. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly, offering great advice for our travels into Canada. The town was the jewel of a trip that went 3800 miles, seven national parks, and two countries. We promised ourselves that of all the places we visited, we will definitely be back to Waterton... My wife and I stayed 3 nights here and had a very enjoyable time. Our room, no. 4, was small but very clean and quiet. It had a small fridge with double bed, shower, toilet and free WiFi. The lodge has a lounge room with TV, books, games and fireplace. Breakfast is served here with coffee, tea juices and muffins... More

Didn't realize it was a B&B type lodge, but it was a great location for a stay in Waterton. The staff was super friendly and helpful. You have to go down an alley-type road to get to the lodge but there is ample parking for standard sized vehicles. Shortly after we arrived two fawns walked by our window! It's nice... More

We changed our plans at the last minute and ended up there for one night. Our room was small but adequate-- there are nicer rooms, but we got what was left. It is a very small place, with every room different. Very friendly staff, and nice continental breakfast (included). Everything was very clean. A short walk to downtown area, close... More

If you are aware that the lodge was built in 1924 than you probably will enjoy the stay. It is really remarkable how the lodge was adapted to have some guest rooms with a minimum standard. Quiet area but in walking distance to town. Muffins for the breakfast are really tasteful but might be a little monotonous for a longer... More

We had a wonderful two night stay in this lodge in early June - especially enjoying the mountain fresh linens! Loved the fact that this property has been run by the same family for decades - and is part of the local history. My room had its own outside deck area - very private with a beautiful view of the... The B and B was run by Mariah who was the most gracious hostess getting up early to bake us muffins before our boat departure to hike crypt lake. She also gave my hubby milk for his cereal. The est is very clean and quaint with history tied to the prince of Wales hotel. With history comes smaller rooms and... More

We stayed a the Northland Lodge the night of July 1 2016. The first thing we need to point out is that this is NOT a "lodge" - this is a bed and breakfast. Not that this is a bad thing, it's just to clarify for people that may have been confused by the name. It's very easy to find... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This historic lodge was built and designed in 1928 by Louis Hill of the Great Northern Railway, the famous builder of The Prince of Wales Hotel along with many of the lodges built in Glacier National Park. Our hillside hideaway is located in the quiet part of Waterton nestled against the mountain and is a 5 minute walk to anywhere in town. Open your window and listen to the sound of the waterfalls all night or hang out on the large deck and watch the deer come off the mountain. And while it was undoubtedly the largest home in the park in 1928, it is small by today's standards. What we lack in size we make up for in hospitality. In the mornings we offer coffee, tea, juice and hot muffins with our famous Saskatoon Berry jam. A sit and sip to visit with other guests and learn about all the adventures available to you in Waterton Lakes National Park. ... more   less
