One bed was uneven and tipped while sitting on edge. TV only had 3 channels and turned off the signal during evening and early morning. Floor uneven. Like building is sagging . No where to put luggage. No AC. Luckily it cooled down in the evening and they provided the noisiest fan ever.
I was so surprised to read some of these reviews. We stayed in the family suite- 3 beds - #37. It was clean and had no odor to it. Was it hot on a 91 degree day - yes- but they supplied two fans which helped. Most of the town and stores do not have a/c so this was not a surprise to us. Is this a 5 star resort- no- it is a hotel in Watertown, Canada- it served its purpose and is located in the heart of the city. Not sure what everyone is complaining about- we had zero problems. It was very quiet and you could walk to everything.
We had a great stay at Aspen Village. It’s super convenient, located a block or two from everything. Our room was newly renovated. There was a second floor community deck where we spent evenings soaking up views of the nearby mountains. The kids played at a new public splash pad just up the sure half a block. Staff were super friendly, especially Caitlin. Thanks! We’ll be back.
Location was good. Room was decent. Bathroom had been renovated and someone forgot to install a hair dryer. When we called the front desk to ask about one, the person said it was on the wall. Nope. Then she said she would bring one to our room. Thirty minutes later, my husband went to the office to get it, only to find out there was not an extra one. When he said she could have at least let us know, her response was rude to say the least.
We just finished a five day trip in Alberta and BC and this was by far the very worst place we stayed at. The girl on the front desk was quite rude and told us that the 4pm check in means nothing and we were lucky our room was ready. Our room was not cleaned and there was a teabag sitting in the coffee pot. Plus there was butter sitting on top of the coffee maker. The screen on the window was broken and my husband had to wrap paper towels around it to keep the mosquitoes out. But the straw that broke the camel's back were the mousetraps throughout our cottage. We stayed here a few years ago and it was great but it has gone downhill. I will never stay there again and will make sure to tell anyone going to Waterton to avoid this place.
We stayed in one of their cottages - #37 (with 3 beds). It had it’s pro’s and con’s. First, I would say that all the employees were incredibly kind and helpful. The cottage has a full kitchen and the location was great. It’s not right on the lake but it’s very convenient to everything. The con’s were several. There is no air conditioning and it was pretty hot when we visited. Our unit was not well cleaned before our arrival and I went to the office to borrow some cleaning supplies. In addition, our unit smelled strongly of curry which I’m sure was cooked by prior guests. The condition of the unit was not great, while it did have new flooring, the ceilings are the old popcorn style and had some old damage. Also, the tv seemed newer but didn’t work very well. I would try a different place next time.…
I booked a kitchenette suite with a King bedroom months before our travel date, via phone. The agent with whom I spoke assured me it was a pet friendly room. Imagine our surprise when, on arrival, we were confronted with a small, smelly room featuring two double beds. We were told this was the only pet friendly option. The beds were not the problem; the key issue was the lack of a kitchen in which to prepare our food. When traveling with a pet, eating out is challenging, and it's easiest to come prepared to self-cater. Although the room had a small fridge and microwave, it did not have any dishes or cutlery (nor a place to prepare food), and the person at the desk said it was not possible to give us any. She also grumbled at a request for a plug for the bathroom sink. The other issue was the smell in the room. We asked for, and were granted, another room, in which the odor was not as strong. As a result, we cut our stay short.…
Checked in - housekeeping had left a bag of cleaning supplies on our bed that I returned which was gross and unprofessional, office rarely open so no access to ice, no AC, unkept lawns, rundown rooms, deadbolt on door had been damaged, carpet frayed, requested a fan - it was yellowed and dirty, electrical outlets were so loose that cords didn’t stay plugged in, overpriced - would have been better in a tent
I would't have need a cottage but wanted the experience, so tried one of the duplex cottages. It was quiet even though right in town. Pros - decent bed, decent soundproofing, gas fireplace. Cons - no A/C, but not needed during my stay. No soft chair, just three kitchen chairs (padded seat). Big oversight - there is room for a comfy chair. Toilet too close to tub, hardly room for legs. I enjoyed my stay but may need to win a lottery to do it again.
First things first. Cale at the front desk is the reason this rating is being made. What could have been a lot lower was made good due to his understanding and flexibility. Thanks Cale!!! Our room is great. Cale is obviously used to issues from Booking.com.
