Stayed one night after arriving on the ferry from Prince Rupert. Hotel is approx 5 mins from the ferry dock. Location is nice on the marina. Front desk staff both night and day were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast included was brown bagged and not worth much - hardly worth the mention. The hotel was comfortable enough but very overpriced, hence the rating. If it weren’t the only room available I’d have chosen another. Do yourselves a favour, stay someplace else.
Our stay at the hotel was pleasant until we had to deal with the manager. He was confrontational and used abusive language. His behavior caused another guest to reprimand him. His actions spoiled our stayed.
My friend and I stayed at the Quarterdeck after taking the ferry from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy. We arrived at midnight. The hotel is about 5 miles from the ferry terminal. The night front desk person was ok - just not very friendly in my opinion. There is NO A/C and the lobby does not have space to relax with a cup of coffee. The continental breakfast is To Go Bag with things you order the night before. Nice enough, but not what I expected. The room was just ok. Beds were comfortable, but not soft/plush by any means.
Good sized room with kitchenette. Organised for ferry passengers with breakfast bags. 24/7 coffee in lobby. Not much to do in area but if going on inside passage ferry a great overnight starting place. Bathroom was fine with good shower. Noise in night when passengers arrived from ferry
This property enjoys an enviable location, but ther level of service / room quality/ decor / carpets is failing.I concur with other correspondents re room key issues - just not acceptable, and when we were without power for the day it was 'all stairs'.The best condition carpets though are on the starwell - in other ares carpets are stained / worn / dirty. The room was failing in a number of areas - (all reprted but no action taken) there were no bedside lights working - only three of the six bathroom light bulbs were working - but still enough to se the grubby hand marks on thr inside of the door. On arriva we were told that there was to be a power out the next day - that their restaurant was under new management - as, as yet not open - no idea when this may happen. I found the receptionist at the Glen Lyon property next door far more helpful and customer friendly!Breakfast was an 'in the bag' provision. We are not sure how they could have maintained the food level temerpatures during the power cut but 'chilled' food was still offered the followng day.- but not much else (as pictures) One has to wonder why an operator with such an excellent location does not deliver evene the most basic of service and standards. The property presents itself as a 3* offering - they are joking !!! - hardly breaks into 2* territroy. I suggest that you avoid if you can - has to be one of the worst places I have evere stayed…

We had stayed at this hotel a few years and love the location overlooking the marina . The hotel has an ample continental breakfast with a good variety to choose from. We have a dog so are happy the hotel still accepts them . The only thing that was not good is the carpet was filthy with Lots of stains . It would be better to have tile or vinyl plank flooring . Pillows were Aweful.
Our team misses the Quarterdeck (and Riley & staff) already and we've only been gone for 2 days! We could have not picked a better property to spend 5 nights at in Port Hardy for Provincials! The level in which Riley was willing to help us out with anything that we needed was impressive. The hotel itself, although not fancy, was perfect and provides a home-away-from-home feel for anyone traveling to that beautiful part of our province. The view over the marina is breathtaking and hearing and seals and watching the eagles soar right in front of the property is amazing! Thank you so much Riley, Alecia and staff for taking care of our team from the Kootenays! We made memories that we will never forget! Bronze for our boys, Gold for you!!!!!!
The hotel is adequate. It could use some more updates. The hotel uses the old key cards and mine did not work 9 times out of ten. I was back and forth to the front desk every time I left my room to get help and find that person with the magic touch to get me back in. I was even locked out for an hour in the morning while we waited for the handyman to get on shift and get me back in the rroom. Also, my deadbolt was broken. The staff was very friendly and dealt with the issue to the best of their ability. I felt bad for them as they probably have to deal with this all the time. The owners really need to buck up and replace this worn out card lock system.
We had a nice stay on the 4th floor. It was very clean in the bathroom and the beds and towels were clean too. The carpets were a bit rough but just stained, not dirty. Good for a family stay, even with a picky wife! We had a beautiful view from our room.
