We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Orange Tabby . Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, the location is perfect, and James and Susan went out of their way to help with recommendations, local tips and advice. Excellent breakfasts too! We will definitely be back if we make it to Port Hardy again!

We felt welcome , place clean , incredible breakfast . Owners gives us tips to place to visit . Close to the beach , perfect for walks. The view and the garden amazing. We only stayed one night after returning from the Great Bear Lodge. Orange Tabby is easy to find, next to the bus terminal, and an easy walk to all amenities in town. James was a really good host (he also knew a lot about the area) and cooked a large and tasty breakfast. We LOVED the easy access shower (only... More

James and Susan really go the extra mile to make your visit special. This is our second visit which says a lot. We couldn't stay as long as we would have wished so must return again to enjoy the Orange Tabby and the beauty of northern Vancouver Island. If you find yourself in this part of the world then this... More

Dee and I went north to visit friends in Port MacNeil but chose to stay in Port Hardy approximately 30 minutes away...good choice! We were met in the driveway by James who immediately put us at ease. Accessing our room on the lower floor of this building was easy enough that handicapped would have little or no difficulty doing so.... More

We were originally booked into Telco House for three nights, but an emergency arose and the owners there called while we were driving to Port Hardy to say that they couldn't take us. They got us in at the Orange Tabby instead at the same rate; the only downside was that breakfast was not made for us. I called the... More

James met us with a very warm welcome and loads of ideas for our short visit to Port Hardy. The accommodation and breakfasts were excellent but James went that extra mile to make sure we gained the most out of our visit. We would certainly recommend the Orange Tabby and will come again next time we are in this beautiful... More

Very comfortable medium sized room at the front of the house. Good sized bathroom. All clean and tidy. Lovely breakfasts which served as a great opportunity to find the best local spots for bear watching or beach combing. We had access to a kitchen which was great for making a tea or coffee and making up a hot flask at... More

Each year my wife and I haul our boat from the Phoenix Arizona area to Port Hardy for a week of salmon and halibut fishing. It's a long and arduous journey, but knowing that the Orange Tabby awaits us spurs us northward. Upon arriving, we were greeted most warmly by James, Susan and Rizona (the house pooch). Our suite was... More

Two nights at the Orange Tabby in early August 2015. James and Susan have hectic lives so they Patricia was there meeting guests, dishing out brilliant meals and offering great conversation. This is definitely an accommodation that I list as 'return visit'. No point going elsewhere in Port Hardy. The only question I have is: Where precisely was the Orange... More
