The Crown is tucked away down a narrow country lane in a lovely rural setting. 6 of us had a lovely home cooked evening meal on a Sunday. We had to wait a while for service but as everything is cooked fresh, this is only to be expected. Lovely food, attentive service. Would visit again.

We were looking for a nice comfortable place to stay for a couple of days whilst exploring the southern part of the Peak District - bordered by Ashbourne, Dovedale and Bakewell and were very pleased to find 'The Crown'. We had a nice comfortable room with a view of the village, our meals, both in the evening and at breakfast... More

There are numerous good things to say about this remarkable place. Firstly, there were plenty of car spaces close to the Inn which was ideal for the luggage my partner and I had (also after a long exciting day spent at Alton Towers it was great to not be parked miles away). The minute we arrived we were treated like... More

Been twice now for a meal and both really good. None of the frozen chips all proper food The two girls behind the bar are extremely friendly and did there best to oblige. If it's a nice night there is plenty of room to sit outside and eat. All in all good experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed here the night before a trip to Alton Towers (a 20min or so drive away). We were impressed with the clean, fresh and modernly decorated rooms. The lady that checked us in gave us a choice of breakfast times and told us when last orders for both the bar and food would be. The only... More

Stayed here for one night and we thought the place was lovely. Room was spacious enough for the two of us with quite a large bathroom. We stayed in the buckley which overlooks the car park and beer garden. Breakfast was great with a good choice of cereal, various cooked choices and toast. Staff were very friendly and chatty. The... Walking in to bar, we loved the decor! Originally we had only come in for a drink but after looking at the menu we couldn't resist lunch! There was plenty of choice on the menu which we thought was reasonable priced. The chips were proper homemade ones and it was nice not to have to ask for salad dressing. Our waitress... More

We stayed here when travelling to Alton Towers. The Crown Inn is perfectly located to leave a short morning drive to the resort. We all work in hotels and were very impressed. Dont go by the pictures on here they have obviously had a recent renovation and the rooms are now really nice, beds and pillows are REALLY comfy and... More

We stayed in May 2016 for one night as we were going to Alton Towers the following day, which is 30 minutes away. The pub is a small and friendly place with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful - we were told everything we needed to know and decided when we wanted to breakfast. The village itself... More
