We visited the Peak District on a whim and it was a very last minute booking. The booking was easy to make online. We had booked the wild camping so we had a pitch in a field with no electric point - we didn't need it and we're very happy with our spot! So much so that we stayed an... More

This is a nice clean site toilets and showers really good, lovely picturesque location but that's were it stops. They have a lovely pub/ restaurant but it's only open on a weekend which is such a shame. Then there is the 10.30 no noise rule which may as well not be there. This site could be 5* but I'm afraid... Lovely place, great pitches, clean toilet and shower block. However lots of children throwing water bombs, leaving bikes and scooters in the road way and generally running riot. It was great to see kids playing in the fresh air, as they should be, but it's not really acceptable to be chasing around pitches of others just wanting some peace and... More

We brought our caravan for a 5 night stay, cannot fault the pitch or the shower block both perfect. Lacking in facilities, pub only open weekends, cafe shut by 5, outside the reception the bin was overflowing, we sat for breakfast surrounded by bottle tops and cig ends all over the floor, not appetising.

Bit of a hard one to rate, this is a great site with the cleanest shower/toilet block I've ever used whilst camping, the prancing pony is a great pub.......however that's where it ends, we stayed 3 out of the 4 nights we booked in for, the place very quickly descended into what could be described as a mass audition for... Thank you for your review. The staff do their best to ensure peace and calm prevail, walking around in the evening at between 11 p.m & 12, and during the day time. We also respond to any issues or complaints, investigate accordingly, and require people to leave if their behaviour does not improve. A glance through our poor TripAdvisor reviews... More

We stayed in a timber yurt , It was great really cozy and clean. saves all the hassle of putting up a tent ! The shower block on the site was immaculate and really warm which is nice when you get out of the shower. The staff were all really helpful. Really you have to ask yourself if you like... More

Thank you for your review. Our guests have a wide choice of accommodation from pitches to luxury Pine Lodges with hot tubs, dishwashers and all modern luxuries. In between are Pods & Yurts with different levels of equipment - some with beds and linen, some just an empty shell with a wood-burner to bring your own bedding. The more luxurious... More

Went at the beginning of July to stay in a small yurt with the children. Best to call in advance and check whether facilities will be open. Games room now fully closed and pub only open at weekends. We didn't feel this was low season so were a bit surprised by this. Bathrooms very clean. Play park basic with 2... More

The pub is open nearly every night in the main school holidays after 24 July. We did trial opening the cafe until 8 p.m. last season in mid week before high season - and it was hardly used, and loss-making. There are 3 pubs which can be reached by public footpaths about 2.5 miles away, one is an easy 12... More

We stayed here 9th - 12th June in a tent. Upon arrival I was greeted by a lady (I didn't get her name) with short blonde hair. She checked us in and directed us to our pitch. When we arrived we couldn't find the electric hook up. She had told us it was on the pitch next door. I walked... More

See below for the noise issues. The loos are cleaned every day twice a day in high season as a minimum at weekends, however, it can be cleaned at 10 a.m. and muddy by half past if people walk in with filthy footwear as happened continually all weekend without any regard foe their fellow campers. So there are some fantastic things about this site. And very few drawbacks. The site is lovely. Our pitch was fine. The weather was crappy but that's no issue for the site. The wildlife is wonderful. Rabbits, hares no end of birds and a very particular late night o or two. The bathroom block is fairly clean and tidy although... More

Thanks for the review, sorry about the noise - which was very loud - and emanating from a weekend party at a farm about a mile away. Our managing warden heard it inside her stone cottage, it was that loud, took a wander around the park, couldn't find the origin on the site, find out from our other neighbours what... More
