we stayed in the Shepherds Hut for one night in September 2013, what a brilliant experience. We had fantastic weather, the house and grounds are lovely. Having breakfast delivered in a hamper to the table outside topped the whole experience off.

Stayed at Bassettwood for a night after a weekend in Derby. Lovely nights stay, made to feel very welcome and a very comfortable room. Pity we weren't staying longer! The farm is very peaceful and quiet and serves a great cream tea!

We stayed for 3 nights in the Shepherd Hut at Bassettwood in the middle of June 2014. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, they even invited in to watch the World Cup with them in the Farmhouse in the evening! The Shepherd Hut was very warm and beautifully decorated, it was very spacious and the bed...

I had visited before for a cream tea, and was really looking forward to our night in the Shepard hut. We were made to feel very welcome by Brian and Sarah and given a tour of the animals including the lambs, pigs, ponies and goats before being shown to our accommodation. The hut is very charming, with an incredibly comfy...

We visited Bassettwood by accident. A spring downpour meant the tearooms in Tissington were packed and my wife spotted a sign for Bassettwood advertising cream teas. We found our way round by road although the sign we'd spotted pointed across fields. Go easy on the farm track if you have a low slung car like ours. Bassettwood farm itself is...

Had a one night break in the Shepherds Hut, with lovely hospitality from Sarah, and if you love animals its just the place! Lovely retreat after walking in the Peak District. Hut was comfy and cosy and just a short trot to the loo! Enjoyed a lovely meal (recommend the pie, if you have a good appetite!) in The Bluebell...

Thank you to Sarah and family for making us feel so welcome this weekend. The Shepherds Hut was amazing and the breakfast was fantastic. We loved seeing all the animals, especially the 4 day old spotty piglets! Asha loved meeting Wellie and I hope we can come back soon for another stay; I've been craving some more rocky road since...

Welcoming friendly service wonderful scone and proper clotted cream and jam. Decaffeinated tea and coffee available. Room a bit cosy for how popular it is. Pot hole strewn approach road bit of a pain but tea, welcome, pygmy goats and 3 day piglets certainly made up for it! Thank you Brian and Missus.

“The website describes the Hut and Bell Tent as being in the 'orchard'. In reality they are next to the farmhouse in a little field with a few trees. It is pretty all the same but not tucked away from the house.”
