The site is just fantastic: you have an amazing view on the valley and the surrounding mountains. The place is very well decorated and the rooms are well design and cosy at the same time. The hosting couple is very nice, welcoming and full of good pieces of advice of what to do around. This is the best spot to... More

What a great find was the Auberge d'Aijean in the small village of Lavigerie and the last Maison d' hôtes on the way to Puy Mary, the highlight of any trip in Cantal and one of the most scenic volcano in Auvergne. The hosts were a tiny bit cold at the outset but eventually warmer when we decided to stay... More

If you stay here be aware this is an Auberge - not a b&b.. it is a restaurant first and foremost, with wonderful food and very romantic atmosphere, with some very clean but very basic rooms upstairs. Oh and be sure to try the Blue Cantal Cheese while you are here! The meal was one of the best we've had... More

There is a reason that the majority of earlier TA reviews are not in English: the auberge is really rural and in a part of France that English speakers rarely go. This, of course, is part of its charm and one of the reasons we chose it for part of our 3-week trip. We were glad we did. Our room... More

The two best things about this place is the views and the food!  Friendly enough staff, the room was very rustic and has exposed wood beams and stone walls. The view from the room we had The Shagya room must be one of the best views from a bedroom window in the world!!! You can see Puy Mary and all... More

The Auberge d'Aijean is a hamlet of about 100 people in the Cantal, a mountainous and remote area of France. We stayed there for 2 nights, and I have a feeling we will be back at some point for more. The Auberge has only 6 rooms - ours was on the top floor under the eaves, with a large comfortable... More
