While the rooms are very basic, the staff and restaurant are absolutely fantastic. The reception staff were especially friendly and helpful arranging activities. The owner's family opened the restaurant especially for us one day for lunch (the restaurant apparently isn't always open for lunch during low season). Great location for exploring the surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a good situation for visiting Monteverde and at first glance appears to be attractive. However our room was small and dark, overcrowded with furniture, and had a damp musty feel. The bathroom was even smaller. The balcony outside had just four chairs for three rooms a nd the reception area had seating for six. Contrary to...

This was a Swiss style cabin built from wood, simple yet gorgeous. The breakfast was amazing and so huge. Fresh fruit, amazing eggs, homemade granola and homemade jam - just spectacular!

No luxury but a great value. Clean rooms, very friendly staff and really good food. It's in a quiet location but easy to get to.

Yes, De Lucia has some drawbacks as have been written here. Walls are paper thin (we were lucky and I think we were alone there for both nights), the rooms are small and a bit musty, nothing to write home about. However, the point of being in this town is to be outside doing things, so we really spent minimal...

We stayed at the De Lucia Inn Hotel for one night with a small tour group (12 people). The room doors only stayed shut when locked. Our room smelled musty. I killed at least ten different types of bugs and spiders during our short stay in our room. Upon arrival there was also a cigarette butt in the toilet and...

The room we stayed in was large (16 vaulted ceiling), very clean, and the bathroom was also, large, clean, and very nice. However, it was very loud at night... I'm not sure if it was just our suite but the wind seemed to get into the roof and it created enough of a racket that we couldn't sleep without ear...

Stayed 2 nights as part of a group tour. We were all in the original 12 room block and the upstairs balcony was great for a pre-dinner drink. The room was fine - try not to have one of the middle rooms downstairs because all the plumbing from the three rooms above goes down a trunking in the corner. Free...

Check in and out was very easy and pleasant and the staff are very helpful, let me use the reception PC to check my emails etc at no charge. The room comes with complimentary breakfast across the road in the restaurant, which is VERY nice and the servers are very kind. The food was a good selection, cereals, fruits, eggs,...

de Lucia Inn was very clean and nice. No bugs or anything as I was reading about in other places. Showers were hot. Price included breakfast and got a huge serving of fruit, granola, yogurt, coffee and juice. Only drawbacks when we went were that reception wasn't always covered but you could go to the restaurant across the street and...
