Fabulous hosts who made us very welcome in this very comfortable, charming and homely castle. We had booked a fixed menu evening meal they offer but we had to call ahead to say we were so delayed we would miss it. They went out of they way and still produced the meal of exceptional quality and value including local aperitifs...

A chance to have a journey back in time by staying in the incredible Chateau de la Motte. Room was interesting with a very large stone fireplace and well equipped. We had lovely views over the countryside. We had to duck through the low stone doorway into the bathroom, part of the adventure into the past! The owners have done...

Stayed one night at this 15th century chateau. We had a delightfully comfortable room, high ceilings, beams and a large fireplace (not working). The bed was also very comfortable. Thoughtfully, our hosts had left out water and wine. We had a separate bathroom and WC so the whole room felt more like a medieval suite!! When we arrived our hosts...

La Motte is an imposing castle which stands proudly as you drive through the village of Usseau. Our hosts are Belgian and speak excellent English and really looked after us with a huge breakfast and use of all the facilities. We chose not to use the pool (too busy doing other things) but the grounds and vegetable garden are interesting...

Stayed 1 night en-route from Spain to the UK. What a fantastic place to stay. Beautiful restored old castle, with lovely gardens. Had a wonderful nights sleep (didn't see the ghost) and a great breakfast in the morning. The hosts were charming, nothing was too much trouble for them, and the tour of the tower and the historical background information...

This wonderful old castle is visible off the A10 and is very imposing as you drive up to it. The castle has such history that one can't help but be impressed by it. We loved exploring the castle and grounds. The kids used the pool which is obviously not modern, but it was clean and safe. The gardens are well...

We found this gem of a place on the Internet. We stayed two nights bed and breakfast and reserved in advance for dinner for both nights. We were met with friendly greetings and shown immediately to our room. We were in Isabelle. Huge twin bedded room with separate toilet and separate bathroom en suite. The views from the room were...

If you've ever wanted to stay in an old, authentic French castle, here's your chance! The rooms are great if you like that original feel. Stone floors, brick walls, older style furniture etc. A fantastic breakfast room, with a massive table to sit at with other guests. There is English spoken here and the manager was keen to show us...

This is a fantastic hotel, full of historical character, where the staff are so friendly and helful. We loved our stay, and will certainlt go back again. If you get the chance, book the Knighrs room, with a fantastic bathroom and superb views. There are a lot of steps in accessing the hotel and rooms.
