Since 30 years, I had the opportunity to stay in Tata Somba Hotel for a couple of days. The staff is friendly and customer-oriented and does a lot to meet the client´s expectations. So I do not complain about food and service. The pool as well: nice place to stay when you come to this place after a long and dusty trip. But the hotel management didn't invest in hardware that much during the last 30 years. The rooms are small, the bed sheets are not very clean, the sanitary installations are poor. However, the room rates are not very expensive; the cost-benefit ratio is below average. My compliments to the staff that has a tough job under these circumstances.
The hotel is old - this is visible in the rooms but still decent enough for a night's stay. The WiFi though was quite sketchy. The pool was a nice place to hang out and drink beers. The breakfast was decent.
Facilities were basic at this hotel. Room size was good but there was no shower curtain in the bathroom; there was plenty of hot water. Meals are served by the pool. We had fish and lamb for our group dinner. Eggs and bread were available for breakfast but no cereal. An amazing bureaucracy comes into play when buying drinks.
This was one of the hotels in Benin which didn't need my attention with the plumbing. The rooms were quite pleasant, although like most in Benin were basic, the restaurant is by the pool and the in house meal was more than pleasant.
The pool area of the hotel is nice. My room, however, was in very poor condition. It was not that clean, the bathroom had a hot water heater, which leaked, over my toilet, which did not have a seat. Dinner served poolside was OK, with slow service.
