Stayed for a couple of days whilst playing golf at Cabot Cliffs, and it could not have been more convenient, which was a relief as the resort was full. It is a beautiful house, very elegantly and tastefully furnished, offering a very relaxed and comfortable experience. We chose the MacLellan Room which was spacious with an ensuite bathroom with shower and full freestanding bath, which was really luxurious after a challenging day on the golf links. Other rooms had separate bathrooms but just across the hallway. There was a comfortable lounge area to sit and relax, and seats also out on the deck which was a lovely place to be with a glass of wine at twilight. There is a kitchen for use by guests, no refrigerators in the rooms but more than welcome to use the fridge in the kitchen if required. We usually prefer to be a bit more anonymous and choose hotels to stay in, but our experience here was so wonderful. Pam and Alistair are the most outstanding hosts, and offered lots of advice about the area, dining options and other recommendations. We were sorry to leave.

There is not much to add to the 5 star rating that the MacLeod Inn enjoys, and deserves. It is just out of town - too far to walk, but close enough that a taxi after dinner with drinks and wine is a reasonable option. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, but one of the best features is the large living room and adjoining kitchen space that is available and accessible to guests even when the hosts are absent - a great place to catch up on email using the free wifi throughout the house. Breakfast is simple, but freshly made using local ingredients and is available when you are ready for it - even though there are posted hours for breakfast, no one is sent away because they're too late. Your host, Pam, is a good source of local recommendations and information, and manages to be friendly and welcoming without being intrusive - a difficult job in a small but high quality establishment. This is definitely a place to return to. Your host, Pam, balances

We stayed one night at this lovely inn as we toured through the Maritime Provinces. We enjoyed the casual and welcoming feel of the inn and hosts Pam & Alistair. Our room on the first floor was very comfortable. Pam’s suggestions for dinner were very helpful. Breakfast and conversation with Pam & Alistair (and their lovely friends from Halifax) in the morning made stop here even more enjoyable. Thanks!

This is an awesome B&B to stay at and our hosts (Pam & Alistair) were exceptional. From the moment you arrive to the time you unfortunately have to leave, everything was perfect. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the Cabot Trail and passing through Inverness and will be referring The Macleod Inn along with Pam & Alistair to all our friends & family. Thank you for your warm hospitality, interesting conversations and a most comfortable and pleasant stay.

On our recent trip to Cape Breton Island we stayed one night at the inn. The innkeeper was very accommodating and helpful. We stayed in a first floor room which is very nice. The room had been recently renovated in a very nice style with a great shower. Large windows overlook the property, woods and a nice ocean view. Ironically I had previously read a review where they were mad to stay in the first floor room. We loved that room and enjoyed our breakfast and the good conversation with other guests.
