The Radisson Blu Hotel Amsterdam Airport, Schiphol garners praise for its warm staff and efficient shuttle service, with many visitors appreciating its proximity to the airport. However, some guests find the value questionable, citing shuttle charges and certain services as not meeting expectations for the price. While the amenities, including a commendable breakfast, are generally well-received, opinions on the rooms and cleanliness are split; comfort and tidiness are commended by some, yet others point out a need for modernization and more rigorous upkeep. The hotel's ambience is considered welcoming by many, but not without a few noting it could benefit from a touch of vibrancy.

Our BA flight was cancelled due to storms so was directed to the radisson with a few other passengers. Shuttle bus easy from airport stand A9-A13 approx 10/15 mins. hotel is on a trading/ business estate so in the middle of nowhere. reception staff were really friendly, empathic and welcoming. Rooms were not ready so we had a drink at the bar! Just under €20 for 2 beers. We were given room 305 which was a good size, bright, clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean with some toiletries. You could get shuttle back to airport and train into centre however we decided to go to the local town nootdorp. Reception staff said we could get a local bus but after an hour this was not easy, however good old Uber came to the rescue €9 approx 7 mins away. Small inside mall, supermarket, more shops, cafes, bars outside. Ok back to the hotel, we were given dinner & breakfast from BA as part of the flight cancellation package and this is where the hotel lets itself down. We were treated like second class citizens at dinner. We were ushered away from the restaurant and taken to where they apparently serve breakfast and hire as conference room. There was a table in the middle of the conference room with some basic food on offer on warming trays. Bread, tomato soup, some salad bowls, dried chicken curry with tin foil on top, a dried fish and veg dish, plain rice or wedges and some pastries for dessert. Large hall at back of hotel with approx 10 customers, no atmosphere, no service, food awful, there was a water and orange juice urn. There was no offer of us being able to pay and utilise the hotel restaurant or even order and pay for drinks from the bar. Just because the airline had booked the hotel Radisson should not treat customers any different. Breakfast offer was mediocre but they do enable you to order other cooked items. I had an omelette which was lovely and fresh. On check out we were being charged as told we had used the room mini bar. I had to explain that the bar was actually locked so we could not even open the door to the bar. I would of rated this a 4* but due to treatment at dinner, location and trying to add additional charges this is a 2-3* at best.

Dear Jane, We would like to thank you for your review. We are happy to read that the room and shuttle bus service was up to your liking. We apologize the service was not what you expected. It’s a running joke that I always book hotels that look lovely in the pictures but are an absolute disaster when you arrive, whether it be run down or just dirty. However the Radisson Blu DID NOT DISSAPPOINT! It was beautiful, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, a proper home from home. The free shuttle service was very handy and easily accessible. The only thing that I would say is that the grouting in our bathroom could have done with a freshen up but other than that there are no complaints. We ordered room service and it was served on a tray with a lovely and polite waiter delivering it to us. Thank you!

Everything in this hotel is designed to make its guests comfortable. The airport shuttle was on time, the people on the reception were exceptionally nice and accommodating. The room was very homey, well designed and clean, the bathroom was the rights size, offering enough toiletries and clean towels. The air-conditioner was working ; nice surprise compared to similar hotels I have been before. The breakfast was very nice and offered variety of tasty foods and drinks. This hotel just got everything I cared about right. I was extremely nicely surprised that human being woke me up. Being woke up by machines in the last several+ years, I just hang on when the phone rang in the morning. I was surprised when the phone rang again and a nice and worm human voice said "Good Morning". These people know how to make their guests special and welcomed. I do not remember when was the last time I liked a hotel so much...This is my Amsterdam hotel from now on !

It's the second time I come back with love.
Every time the staff at the reception pleasantly surprises me, they always made sure that I was satisfied with the room I received, also if you become a member you have even more advantages, thank you Mr. Makey! The rooms are very spacious and nice, the hotel has a shuttle and is only 15 minutes away from the airport, plus you have a direct connection with the train to Amsterdam Central.
The breakfast is extraordinary, very diverse. In the evening we ate at the hotel's restaurant, the food was varied and the prices were very good.
Next time I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel 3 nights. For a city break.

The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service every 30mins from Schiphol airport bus station. The journey is 10mins.

This is great if you want a hotel that has great links into Central Amsterdam/City Centre as you can get most buses or Trains to most places in Amsterdam from there. However the hotel itself is not near any local amenities other than the airport.

The airport itself has a mall with quite a few shops, a mini-mart and restaurants.

The check in was a smooth process. We were informed that paying for breakfast in advance is €5 euros cheaper than purchasing on the day (€28.50 vs €23.50). This was useful to know. I’d advise to order breakfast in advance and cancel if you no longer required. We were also informed that there is room service but a €9 delivery fee. We did not order room service.

The reception has water and sweets for guests, I thought this was a nice welcoming touch. The hotel lobby/reception itself is well presented and modernly decorated.
The rooms are functional and meet all the required expectations of a 4/5* hotel, large bathroom with shower and tub, full length mirror, iron, tea/coffee station, fridge, tv etc

We stayed in an economy room, the difference to a premium room other than size is probably no water or minibar, no slippers or bathrobe. However the room size was good and spacious.

The only negative about the room is that the decor was dated, the lighting wasn’t great in the bathroom and the temperature control wasn’t working perfectly.

Breakfast was nice, served as a buffet, with most items you expect in an intercontinental breakfast, everything is pre-cooked so you can’t order preferred items e.g omelettes etc, there’s also a coffee machine rather than freshly brewed coffee.

Lunch and dinner are served in the Otium restaurant and you can order from an a la carte menu. We ate out and did not eat in the restaurant so cannot advise on how the food tasted or whether it was value for money.

There is a gym and a business centre on the 8th floor, although the gym is small it has a variety or machines 1-2 of each machine. The AC wasn’t working so it was hot.

Overall our stay was nice, most guests were there for work/business so it was relatively quiet. One of the days one of the work groups staying at the hotel filled up the shuttle bus so we had to wait 1hr. So although the free shuttle bus is great, probably best not to rely on it.

I’m sure we’ll visit again.

I was very surprised that you have to pay shuttle to the airport 5euros, which is a disgrace.
Hotel itself is located quite far (10min) from the airport and when I’ve asked a receptionist when was this implemented, the answer was since October.
Unfortunately, except the bad location and quite old rooms, this was one of the ways to earn extra money, so at least kindly start re-doing your rooms for the money you’re taking from us who need to go to the city.

Dear Урош, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at our hotel. We are truly sorry to hear about the confusion and disappointment you experienced regarding the airport shuttle and your overall experience not meeting your expectations. Whilst our hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service from the airport, a fee applies to the return journey. We do our best to make this information clearly visible on the various booking platforms, but we will consider ways to further ensure that this information is easily accessible to our guests. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you in the future and impress you with the hospitality and service our guests have come to expect. Yours sincerely, Melle van Uden, General Manager

After flying from Hong Kong and a beautiful Hyatt Regency there, staying at this Radisson Blue hotel was simply nightmarish. Dirty bathroom, shabby room, total lack of assistance, which for a person in a wheelchair is a must. 3 euros per bag stunned us completely. Never again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are very sorry that the cleanliness of the bathroom and the room was not up to our typical standards. Also I would like to apologize for the disappointing service you received from our staff, it is definitely not up to our standards to not freely assist with luggage. Our team works hard to make sure our guests are comfortable and receive our best 'Yes I Can!' service. We will take your feedback seriously in count and we will try to take lessons out of it so these thing will not happen again in the future! If you plan to stay in Amsterdam in the near future, we would love to make this right with you! Best Regards, Mark Mosselman

The hotel is built up around greenery and is convenient for connecting as airport is close and bus shuttle really helps.

I feel the product is great with nice and clean surroundings .

Hotel staff need to look in consideration for guests with their requests on room types and floor. It isn’t nice to lie and say all top floor have suites so nothing available where actually all Floors have suite room. Especially knowing that I am staying for 3 nights.

Room cleanliness is horrendous, the staff only comes and changes room amenities and nothing else. Bathroom cleaning even dusting of bed isn’t done properly.

There is definitely cleaning required for hotel public areas especially around lobby .

Not practical as an airport hotel unless travelling later in the day. Booked a room with breakfast but as restaurant didn’t open until 6:30am this was no use to me. No offer of a packed takeaway breakfast either. And as room was booked via 3rd party no refund or option to change to room only. Shuttle bus to the airport doesn’t start until 7am so you have to pay for a taxi to take you if travelling earlier. Not much options for late night food or room service so if you arrive late & are leaving early don’t expect to eat anything. So taking into account the additional costs incurred I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the morning the following day

Dear mikelT35KA, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. Indeed breakfast starts at 06:30 am. We do offer breakfast to go if requested but it has to be requested the day before at a certain time so the kitchen team is able to prepare it. If you make a booking that includes breakfast it is indeed unfortunately not possible to change this to room only. For next time if you have to leave early I suggest you to make a booking that excludes breakfast. If you have to leave later in the morning you are more than welcome to have breakfast in our restaurant anyway. Our shuttle service starts at 07:00 am which is also stated on our website. We hope you will reconsider to stay in our hotel again soon. Kind regards, Jelle - Guest relations

The shuttle busses departs from the platform just outside of arrival s exit. The shuttle busses have signes which hotel they are belongs to. However, if you not sure whether it will be correct one, you may ask passangers around you, airport information or direct shuttle driver. All are friendly in Amsterdam and willinbly will assist you.
