We've stayed here a few times, and actually had our wedding here as well! The oceanfront is amazing - the view is stunning from the deck and from the suites. It's very quiet, I love her garden and her patio area. Some of the suites are definitely unique (in a good way), well equipped, etc. Linda was also very helpful... More

There's nothing like a get away that takes you to the unique and quaint accommodations that Heron House offers. We loved staying in the "Tideline" where you can sleep and wake to the ocean right at your doorstep! The sound of the waves, the call of the eagle and the magical ambiance brings us back once more! Very private and... More

We stayed two nights in the cottage and really enjoyed ourselves (have rebooked for August). Probably one of the more unique places we have stayed in a long time with rambling buildings, old floathouses and unique lofts on the property. Old style perennials coming up everywhere. So peaceful and Linda is absolutely great. Now not all the electronics were working... More

Stayed at Heron House in 2014, so this review is way past due. However, I promised it to Linda on departure. Not only was she the most generous host, she was also super helpful whenever needed. The place is clean, full of history and the view is simply unbeatable. My girlfriend and I got the bed on top of the... More

I was bicycling Vancouver Island and Quadra Island and spent 2 nights at the Heron Guest House. It was one of the major highlights of the trip. I would sit on one of the several balconies overlooking the water and read a book. And Linda make a good, strong pot of coffee each morning. As second generation owner, she has... More

We had a lovely 3 days in the cottage at Heron House. The cottage was neat and tidy, the bed comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans etc. and the view INCREDIBLE. The deck quickly became our favourite spot for morning coffee as we enjoyed the steady stream of boats, the many birds working for their lunch,... More

This is a definite 'fixer-upper'. Linda is lovely but calling Heron House quirky is a kindness. The shower in our bathroom was terrible (but thankfully we were able to use the one downstairs). We were offered breakfast and thought it was a good idea since we had to meet our kayak group early but the 'wonderful fresh bread' was hard... More

We stayed in the Tideline Room here for 4 nights last month. The room was clean and comfy and best of all, right on the ocean. We listened to the waves every night. There was a small kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker. No TV no radio no cell signal; which was actually great. With views like we... More

We staying one night in Heron House on July 21. We were pleasntly surprised by the location right on the shoreline. We stayed in the Queen room and had a panoramic view from the room, it was lovely. The volunteer staff from Australia & New Zealand were cheerful and helpful - Crissy prepared a huge, healthy breakfast for us 🍲🍳☕️!... More

There is a smell of septic in several places on the property. Deck railings falling down. Lack of smoke detectors. Broken chairs. I am sure the main guesthouse is fine but beware of the room under it. The worst bedding I have ever experienced, uncomfortable beds and no opening windows. There is a hot plate in there but not one... More
