Wonderful location, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable and cozy cottage with a view, private hot tub and barbecue. Excellent COVID-19 protocols. Enjoyed their outdoor heated pool and strolling around the on site marina and waterfront. Most hotel amenities were not operational during our stay. However, we had a lovely, quiet, relaxing time and we will definitely return to Poet's Cove.
We recently spent two nights at Poet's Cove Resort on Pender Island. It was a beautiful, restful retreat. The staff was very friendly, always available to answer questions. We stayed in a king room which was excellent and exactly as pictured online...very clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The view of the harbour was right there from our expansive private deck where we enjoyed a glass of wine each evening. I would highly recommend Poet's Cove Resort.
Poets Cove Resort & Spa Pender Island After viewing the beautiful pictures of the hotel and accommodations, my husband and I were looking forward to a trip over to Pender Island and to mix business with pleasure. Unfortunately the Poets Cove Resort & Spa is apparently not what it use to be. Even with taking Covidt19 restrictions in mind this Resort lacked in hospitality and professionalism. The view from our room of the harbour was stunning, but the that was the only landmark part of the visit. After unpacking our luggage we had an okay meal outside on the deck of Syrens Bistro & Lounge, and stayed to watch the sunset. Feeling the chill we looked forward to warming up in front of our room's fireplace. Unfortunately it did not work and it was the only form of heat in the room. Not looking forward to an extremely cold night in a room with no heat, we phoned the desk and let them know. We received a key to another room and with our clothes and personal belongings hanging from our arms we shuffled from one room to another down the hall. No apologies from the management or help from the staff. But at least this room's fireplace worked. Even from this room the view of the harbour was still outstanding. However, as I looked around the room and saw; dark stains in the carpet, a sacked out king size bed mattress, water stains on the wood furniture and the chair seats upholstery was so frayed that the foam was sticking out. I could only think,"I am so glad we got this on a Weekend Special" as I could not imagine spending over $400.00 a night on a room like this. The advertisement for this place reads "The Poets Cove Resort & Spa is the Gulf Islands' Premier Luxury Resort", I am afraid that ship has sailed.…
We had the opportunity to spend 3 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage with hot tub and view. The location was very beautiful and as there were hardly any other guests, it was very peaceful. Besides that, it was pretty disappointing. Our room was supposed to include a free bottle of wine that we had to ask for on our second day, the floor heating in the bathrooms didn’t work, the tv didn’t work (a cable was disconnected), bathroom lights were burnt out, the heater in the dining room didn’t work, the cottage was not very clean...When you spend that amount of money to stay at a resort, you expect these things to be looked after.
An excellent place to kick back in the off-season. Our Villa stay provided all the comforts of home and then some...with lots to explore on the Islands. Staff were helpful in suggesting dining options, walking trails, etc. and prompt in dealing with minor issues.
