We stayed at the resort for a wedding. The wine glasses in our room still had lipstick residue on the rim. Not a covid clean that’s advertised that’s for sure! The drawer for clothes had a spill in which I wiped out with a wet cloth which was now heavily soiled. The tiled shower literally had slime all around the perimeter BUT on each side of glass door we literally made a line with our fingernail in the slime that went under our fingernails! Has not cleaned or washed for months. The toilet same. Carpets badly stained and deck cement stained from coffee spills. Mirrors and windows dirty and smeared. Not a 5 star clean or even close. Pool bathrooms extremely filthy. Paper towel empty in all three bathrooms there. We reported immediately of our room and was given a 20% credit. Short staffed but their high prices do not reflect the dirty rooms. Pretty sure that my sheets were not even changed at some point. The grounds are beautiful. Catering food and staff were exceptional. My son and nieces rooms were dirty as well and the fridge was broken. Definitely needs a thorough clean and maintenance to fix items to bring it up from a very 2 - low 3 star to a five star resort as advertised Such a shame as the property is gorgeous! Watch your bill as well. They took 20% off our stay but when I looked at our booking the price we were locked in to was the price given to us after the 20% discount! A beautiful location for a wedding venue but other than that when a room makes your skin crawl from filth we cannot go back as much as the location is gorgeous. So sad.

Gorgeous location and so special. Master bedroom mattress was not comfortable at all, needed replacing but staff wasn’t able to resolve our complaint. Beautiful and comfortable cottage otherwise. Private and lovely porch with hot tub. Immaculate property and gardens and warm beautiful pool for family swimming!

Location is beautiful and food was good. Staff was friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Unfortunately, the facility is not well taken care of. Opening after covid may have been the reason for cleanliness and lack of staff.

Review of Poet’s Cove Resort: Poet’s Cove is supposedly a 5 star resort in a beautiful setting. There is no doubt that it’s location and layout is marvellous. However, having stayed in a two bedroom cottage with hot tub, a lovely structure, we feel that Poet’s Cove is charging 5 star prices for, unfortunately, a 3.5 star experience. Why? The unit we stayed in: dirty carpets, particularly in master suite; mould in corners of tub/shower and defective shower pull in 2nd bathroom; screens on some windows missing or broken; dining room window broken; and the overall cleanliness of our unit was unacceptable. When we checked into our unit the garbage had not been taken out and there were no paper towels in the kitchen at all, no extra toilet paper in the bathrooms. Poet’s Cove is advertised as a resort and spa, yet the spa remains closed, according to the sign posted, due to Covid. That certainly is not the situation with other spas located in the province. This is such a beautifully built, beautifully located resort, it is a shame to see these things.

The room furniture is in need of updating, the bed is horrible and we checked out early as were so sore and tired from the worst night sleep. We couldn't see spending any more money for what we going to be another poor night. The outdoor balcony was very spacious but lacked furniture to utilize the space. Also the TV was so small it was difficult to see unless you sat up close to it.

My wife and I booked Poets Cove back in March for the week for our honeymoon, we pictured ourselves sitting poolside with a Margarita, when we arrived we went to our room to find stains all over the carpet, and a lovely card wishing my new wife a happy anniversary from me. We then went to the Bistro, when we booked we were under the impression they had two restaurants, only one was open, we sat on the deck but we're immediately swarmed by wasps, we then moved inside, same issue there, we ended up taking our Nacho's and drinks back to our room. We then decided to maybe try the pool. The hot tub at the pool was cold and the main pool was literally 110 degrees, apparently they were having issues with their thermal heating, we decided to go to the second pool, again hot tub not functioning. After the pool issues we decided to go back to our room to have a soak in our soaker tub, when I ran the water it was brown and smelled awful, when I inquired at the desk, they said it was just high in iron content and was harmless, they gave us a couple of bottles of water which we ended up using to brush out teeth. By this time we had had enough, I wrote an email to the reservation desk, regarding our disappointment, we checked out first thing the next morning. The most frustrating thing of all is that I wrote another, more detailed letter regarding our stay and no one every replied, wil not be returning to Poets Cove, or any of their other resorts. I advise you to think twice before booking.

Filthy room..though we were offered another that really could have had a good clean too! Are they so low on staff? There were cobwebs in the halls and rooms, hairs and toilet paper on the bathroom floor, hairs in the sink and tub, a layer of dust on the bed board and tv hutch, table lamps, coffee maker that you could write on, and baseboardshavent been cleaned forever by the looks of it. The fan was caked with dust, the covers on the bed all bumpy and not all smoothed out as you expect a fresh bed to be, glass tabletop dirty with fingerprints and marks, and balcony not swept, the furniture is showing its age by marks and rips and the wood frames losing their finish. All windows throughout the hotel were dirty and the floor in the restaurant where we had breakfast was dirty with food and dust and dead wasps around our table first thing in the morning! So very disappointed from how it was back in the early 2000’s. No room service, or ability to go to the spa, hot tub or steam cave, no housekeeping

1-resort shows it wear-rooms was dated and didn’t look clean upon check in. Shower had lots of dirt/grime build up on shower. Upholstered chairs in room worn. Looks run down. Spa closed.-pool small and crowded. Restaurant understaffed and not welcoming. Very slow service.

As returning guests we were very excited for our stay. Our first encounter was an exceptionally rude reception from the front desk employee. She was neither helpful or welcoming. Our cottage had been changed and was not ready when we arrived. When we were able to get in it was filthy. Our feet were black from walking on the floors and the stained carpets. The interior is tired and many things were broken and/or not working properly. One would expect this level of cleanliness at a 3rd rate motel, not a “luxury resort” at $700 a night. The last straw was when my children got into the hot tub and it turned into a bubble bath. This was horrifying as it clearly had not been cleaned from the previous guests. K2 from maintenance was lovely. He tried fixing the problem but ultimately had to refill the hot tub which we couldn’t bring ourselves to using again. We tried but could not resurrect our stay and checked out at 6:30 the next morning. We will never be back. PS Nikki Morgan (Front Desk Manager), you keep responding you “value feedback as an opportunity to improve”. Perhaps instead of saying it, do it! Do not book here. Not worth the $$$!

At some point this was probably a lovely place to stay but it has been allowed to become quite shabby. Chipped paint, broken tiles, sub-par linens, and huge stains in the bedroom carpets don’t add up to the huge cost of staying here. The location is absolutely lovely but the cabins in which we stayed are definitely not worth the money.
