This place is something else! It really gives you the feeling of real wilderness camping but still with amenities of a nice camp site. The dirt road on the way into the campground definitely will need a higher clearance vehicle. I saw a nissan altima drive in front of us and they were having a tough time. They had to... More

This campground is a well hidden gem. We had a site #45 and it was perfect for 2 families with kids. Private acces to the beach and swings in the forrest kept our kids busy and very happy :). We will be back for sure!!!!!

One of Vancouver Islands hidden treasures, my family and I camp here often. Stunning ocean views that give you something different depending on the time of day or the weather. Thirty minutes to Ucluelet and an hour to Tofino if you want to do some surfing or sightseeing. They have sites right in the trees or right on the ocean.... More

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights on a private beach site at the Mussel Beach campground before high season. The view of the beach and the sea was spectacular and the site itself was lovely, with a lot of vegetation to ensure privacy. We decided to pitch our tent there one day in advance and when I called to... More

My girlfriend and I chose Mussel Beach Campground for it's proximity to the water, availability of beach-front sites, and the hopeful impression that it would be a quiet but friendly and laidback stay for our trip out to the westcoast of Vancouver Island. We were not disappointed. The owners are beautiful people - very caring and friendly. They gave us... More

This is a Very Beautiful wilderness campsite, that being said the Gravel road entering is about 30 minutes and is poorly graded. Also the washroom facilities leave to be desired, very dirty and smell like piss Note to management you cannot clean a bathroom without water

In response to your review about our toilets. Our toilets here are pit toilets and with this type of bathroom facility some smell is to be expected during peak times like July and August. We do routinely treat them and have them pumped. They are also cleaned daily . If a toilets is needing attention it would help if the... More

My brother and I spent a couple of days on the peninsula in early June, wandering around Tofino and Ucluelet. Lots of great souvenirs, of course, and one of the best parts was that campground. First, it is very well placed : though a bit isolated (the access isn't easy, about 15 minutes by car away from the main road),... More

The olace is amazing.Yes the dirt road can be a bit chunkey at times but not the worst I have traveled. After 8km of logging road you enter the property and all you see is the view of the open ocean, next stop Japan. If you like wilderness camping along with whales, bears, seals and all sorts of other wildlife this is the place for... We stayed for 3 nights at Mussel Beach and really enjoyed our stay. Great location by the water, good sites, and we liked being away from things so didn't mind the 8km/20 min drive down gravel road. Lori was friendly as we checked in and later had a request. Hot showers, outhouses kept tidy, generous wheelbarrow of firewood for $10.
