This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled in a scenic coastal location, Black Rock Oceanfront Resort offers tranquil sea views that guests often appreciate. While the rooms are lauded for their space and vistas, the dining experience is considered costly and lackluster. The service receives mixed reviews, with commendations for staff friendliness but critiques regarding dietary accommodations and room service. Visitors enjoy the resort's ambiance and cleanliness, yet some areas reportedly need updating. The amenities, including pet-friendly policies and well-furnished rooms, are popular, though guests have noted some limitations in dining service hours.

WHAT A GREAT STAY AT A REASONABLE PRICE! THE SUITE WE BOOKED WAS BEAUTIFUL, AND THE 10 FOOT HIGH RAINFALL SHOWER HEAD MADE US NEVER WANT TO SHUT OFF THE WATER. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, AND THE STAFF, ESPECIALLY CARLY IN THE BAR, ALL WERE WONDERFUL. WE BOOKED ANOTHER VISIT FOR LATER THIS YEAR. TOFINO IS GREAT, BUT WE PREFER THIS RESORT IN UCLUELET!

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here for three nights and stayed in a one bedroom suite. This resort was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. An amazing location with great facilities, staff and views. The gym was good with a lot of kit to use. The room had a kitchen and Nespresso coffee machine which was a great bonus. We are planning to return next summer as we loved the resort and Ucluelet so much.

AMAZING! Heard & saw ocean waves crashing from our balcony. Heard the fog horn & saw light house beacon from our unit. Had a lovely view of the ocean from our bed! Had the window open & was able to hear the soothing ocean waves at night. Will definitely go back♥️

Stayed a few days with my dog & partner in an ocean view trail suite to celebrate their birthdays. The ocean views are spectacular, & the rocks are fascinating to explore at low tide. I didn't use the gym during my stay but it looked nice. The outdoor plunge pool & 2 hot tubs are worth a visit as they overlook the ocean. My disappointment started when I tried to order room service or takeout from Currents restaurant. I was informed that "it's fine dinning, there is no option for takeout because of the platting". I reiterated that I'm traveling with my dog & want to eat in my room so as to not to leave him unattended. I was told to order from the bar menu. 4 greasy choices on the bar menu. Not even close to what I was hoping to have for dinner. No thank you. This is a service gap that has damaged my opinion of your resort. For what I paid to be here, I am truly disappointed with the lack of service. You're a pet friendly resort, but unwilling to accommodate takeout for those with pets and pets cannot dine with you. This is problematic. Please either diversify your current bar menu or allow takeout from your finer dining establishment!

This place is truly amazing. The views are beautiful, shower and bathroom are huge, beds are comfortable, and there's lots of restaurants within walking distance! Great that it has a pool, two hottubs, and lots of trails and hiking. I would recommend it to anyone

The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort immediately reveals it is a place of magical offerings. It is set in spectacular surroundings, overlooks the Pacific Ocean & is located in rainforest. It sits side by side with beaches, wild trails & inspiringly tall trees. Its entrance is magnetic & its parking area has an abundance of place to leave one’s vehicle. Inside the building there are two great places to eat, where most seats provide a good view. It has a Drift Spa, which offers restorative services & products, & many of the resort’s rooms also have a view of ocean & forest. Service is good all round & there is much magical to do in this magical ocean village on Canada’s Wild West coast. As the surrounding area offers good beaches & most days good waves, surfing is one of the magical things to do. Posted by S Fuller

To start with, the check in is not until 5p.m. so we asked for an early check in, which was confirmed but due to the limited housekeeping staff they still could not get our room ready until after 4p.m. The room was clean but had a poor layout with the bed beside the balcony and the sofa in a corner so you could not sit on the sofa to enjoy the view. The door to the balcony had a broken door handle and the lock did not work. It is a 3 star hotel and a 2 star dining with 5 star prices. We will not be going back.

This was my second visit to Black Rock and again it was a memorable experience. Certainly the location is spectacular yet staff members add immensely to create a solid professional atmosphere. Service is exceptional and above and beyond what you find in most hotels. I stayed in a trail suite ocean view. The room configuration was comfortable and efficient with a total focus on nature and the ocean’s presence - peaceful, quiet, calm. Being away from the main building was a bonus yet very easily accessible when necessary. The makeshift ‘cold’ plunge pool was an asset situated next to both hot tubs. Sinking into the view at this location was something else. Though sine were upset there wasn’t adverse weather conditions, I appreciated the sun throughout the week. The surrounding environment is replete with activity and sights to view. I congratulate the team and resort for their effort and dedication to making guest experiences superb. Looking forward to returning in a few years.

I don't even know where to start. This is my 6th or 7th stay but since being married my husband has brought me to the resort staying in the black Rock Suite. It's a 2 bdrm, 2 bathroom suite. Fully functional kitchen. Big living room and dining room. But the views, outstanding! I sat on the deck for hours a day. It was our own slice of heaven! And the staff are lovely, the chef made us beautiful side dishes to go with the roast I cooked. Outstanding taste! I believe it was Chef Josh..Thank you for your kindness. Yes, house keeping is limited but they'll bring you up whatever you need and really, how hard is it to pick up after yourself and run a dishwasher. I wasn't inconvenienced at all. And a shout out to Adele. You obviously care about your staff as they have only positive things to say and I truly believe this as my interactions with you have only been positive. Thank you for making our anniversary so amazing and we look forward to coming back. Now, about the tsunami alert, I know it's a much needed drill, and a positive but when I hear it I immediately look to the ocean and always yell ' I see a huge wave ' to which my husband rolls his eyes and makes me a drink🤣
