All in all best stay in Uclulet and Tofino! I have stayed many place in uclulet and Tofino and this resort has the best value for the cost of a stay by far. Gorgeous views from the ocean view rooms, incredible storm watching and delish options if you want to eat at the resort. Pet friendly, the best for dogs they even wrote a personalized note for our dogs including their names with the resort rules for our four legged family members. The beds are very comfortable, the Tom was spotless extremely clean with lovely soaps moisturizer and shampoos all ocean friendly and biodegradable. They went above and beyond to ensure their resort is leaving a limited eco footprint and protecting the ocean with the products they use. Beautiful lounge area and even games you can use on the 2nd floor mezzanine. The hot tub and cool pool area is beautiful with ocean views where you can watch the sunset. Reception staff are very friendly and full of ideas for what to do locally! We will be back to visit again soon

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here for three nights and stayed in a one bedroom suite. This resort was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. An amazing location with great facilities, staff and views. The gym was good with a lot of kit to use. The room had a kitchen and Nespresso coffee machine which was a great bonus. We are planning to return next summer as we loved the resort and Ucluelet so much.

We enjoyed our time at Black Rock the rooms were very nice and well equiped. The staff were good and the breakfast in the dining room was very good. We explored the trails around the resort and went up to Long Beach and expored there even going down to the 49th parallel cairn.

A studio room for 2 with exceptional views… glass of wine on the balcony, listening to the sound of the waves, a perfect setting to exhale. Wild Pacific Trail steps away from the resort for a morning hike or to capture breathtaking sunsets, priceless…

The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is magnificently located, just steps from the Wild Pacific Trail, which winds its way though the rainforest of Vancouver Island’s west coast, with its lushness & spectacular ocean exposures attracting visitors to it from around the world. The hotel/apartment & resort location has a fine dinning restaurant & a bar lounge, both of which offer stunning views over the Pacific Ocean. The Big Beach bar lounge also has a late afternoon happy hour, offering both eats & beverages at discounted prices. The service is friendly &welcoming. It is a favourite with locals & visitors alike. Its spa provides many services, all in inspiring surrounds. Posted by S Fuller

We highly recommend staying at the Black Rock Resort! The resort sits in an amazing setting, and the room had beautiful views. The staff were very friendly and we had a great time sitting at the bar downstairs and chatting with the bartender. We were there on a charter fishing trip, which was chilly and wet, so we were all very pleased to return to our suite and have a fire and a soak. We loved everything about the bedrooms in the suit- each had their own huge bathroom with a great shower and bath tub. The best part- the beds! They were extremely plush and comfortable. 3 months later we are still obsessing over the comfort of the mattress. (If anyone out there knows what specific mattresses they use on their king sized beds, we would be extremely appreciative to attain this information!! (Thanks in advance)). We can’t wait to return to the Big Rock Resort with a chance to spend more time on the property.

We stayed at Black Rock for the first leg of our Honeymoon. It was excellent. The views alone are worth the visit. Especially during storm season. They make it clear before booking that they do not offer daily House keeping or room service. But that is ok as we only stayed 2 nights. All of the staff were absolutely wonderful and our room was very cozy. You can see on their lobby wall that they plan on doing some renovations soon. Which honestly the suite we were in didn’t really need. Besides the furniture being a bit tired and out dated everything else felt very modern. The hallways around the hotel though could use a cleaning. Between the glass with ample finger prints and the amount of dust on railing by windows you can tell they are not cleaned as often as they should be. I personally feel that the price point is a little high based upon the services that they don’t provide currently. That being said we had a great time and will be back!

Stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip. It is easy to find right on the Pacific Coast and is a great base to explore Ucluelet, Tofino and the Pacific Rim National park. There is plenty of free parking. The rooms are very big, comfortable and well appointed and the views of the Pacific are incredible. There is a bar and restaurant on site.

I just returned from a memorable vacation at the Black Rock. We spent two nights in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom oceanfront room. Our view was breathtaking, the room was spacious and modern, and the private patio looked onto the Black Rocks and ocean. We enjoyed a long walk along the coast adjacent to the property. The front desk staff was helpful with recommendations for places to visit in town. My only negative feedback would be we flew directly from Vancouver to Tofino, and arriving from the airport can be tricky. The town of Ucluelet only has one local taxi driver who is not reliable and very rude. The Black Rock doesn't offer a shuttle service, and they should provide for the price they charge for rooms. They need to sort this out. Or you better drive or you might be stuck at the airport.
