We spent a wonderful 3 days at the Black Rock Resort. The hotel was spotlessly clean. We had a fabulous ocean view room. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. During these unusual Covid times they are doing an amazing job. We will be back!!!! Thank you!

This resort is phenomenal! Clean, great Covid measures and gorgeous views! A huge shout out to Black Rock for delivering an incredible resort that definitely didn’t disappoint. We had a wonderful breakfast at currents restaurant (on property), and enjoyed exploring the area (wild pacific trail). In the past, we’ve stayed in Tofino, but lately it seems so busy. Ucluelet seems to have a more mellow vibe.

This is our third stay at Black Rock, first one was 9 years ago and the second was last month. Both of those stays were wonderful. This time we are in studio trail suite 1204 and had a major issue with the bed being so so worn out and saggy. I have no back issues, never had but after one night in the bed my lower back has seized up and the second night I could hardly lay down. The mattress has huge dips on either side and needs to be replaced ASAP. For a high end hotel it shocks me that these haven’t been replaced. The other downside is the rooms don’t have black out shades. One of the higher windows doesn’t have a covering at all, and same with the door so much light comes in from the light outside, if you need darkness to sleep this is not ideal. We love this hotel, it has far more pros than cons but I wanted to mention our experience. The pros are the unbeatable view, access to the Wild Pacific Trail, amazing spa like toiletries, robes, the kitchenette, the staff, etc.

Dear Sunshinelover479, Thank you so much for your review and your kind words. We couldn't agree more with you, although the beds that you are noting were only just purchased 3 years ago, they are way to soft and have not held up. I am happy to report that we have ordered new beds that are both larger than what is in place presently ( largest king available) and are a medium firmness with a new softer top so you get the best of both. We hope to have those all in place before July 1st. We are in the process of working with a designer on a full property upgrade, part of this will be replacing the floor coverings and the window coverings. Sorry for the inconvenience the current coverings caused, we hope to have this resolved for our guests comfort within the year. Thank you for your comments, they are so appreciated, we hope that you can come back soon and when you do you can see and experience more of the positive changes we are making around the property. Take care and all the best.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing getaway at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet. Neither of us have ever stayed at this resort, or anyway in Ucluelet actually, and I have to say, it was breathtaking. We stayed in the Trail Cabin Suite which was beyond our expectations! We had a beautiful view of the ocean from almost every window! We brought our two little dogs with us, Norman and Walter, and they were made to feel very welcome. There were two little beds, with treats, and dog dishes waiting for them when we walked in the room. We were even allowed to bring them on one of the patios to join us for beer and wings. All the staff were very friendly as well as very accommodating. The resort was immaculate, inside and out. There was lots to do in the area, including hiking and paddle boarding. We have zero complaints and can't wait to return! What an amazing way to wind down after a 24+ year career!

We booked a 3 night getaway package through BC Ferries and selected the Black Rock Resort again. We did this just for a change of scenery, mental health and fresh air as being sequestered at home during the pandemic has been getting depressing. We selected the Trail Cabin suite again like the last time because we both enjoyed how the suite is set up with the kitchenette and big spaces. We were fortunate one morning to see an orcas whale glide in and out of the inlet from our living room! Black Rock is our go-to resort when we want to visit Ucluelet and Tofino. Hopefully we won't wait another 5 years to come back!
