Ok, I have to say I was a little apprehensive after booking the hotel and looking at the reviews. HOWEVER, I didn't really find any major issues with our stay. I'm not sure how many times reviewers have been going to cottage country but 'modern' and 'cottage country' are rarely spoken in the same sentence (and that's how it should be). Yes the rooms have 'dated' furniture, but it fits in with the surroundings, and the room was very clean. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were very nice and friendly, lovely clean outside pool area and lovely patio overlooking the very large pond. Things we did encounter - the previous visitors to our room left 2 bags of dog poop outside on the small patio, and the hot water turned orange (once we got to the bottom of the tank I guess) no big deal, but obviously needs replacing. Personal view on things that need improving - they do need to spend some money on landscaping. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and the back was overrun with weeds, as was most of the property we strolled around (a small deck at the back of these villas would do wonders, as would outside building maintenance (it wasn't too bad but the wood will rot if not treated). Well, that's it...nothing too exciting to report, it was overall a really nice few days away.

The property is not being maintained. Stained carpets. Mold in the window sills. Grounds full of weeds. Pool full of bugs. Bathroom towels are thread bare. Ice machine did not work. No breakfast facilities. No tuck shop. We arrive at 2. Not busy but was not allowed to check in until 4. Stupid policy. Tried to book a reservation for dinner at Stone 21. No one available so was not able to book. Because of COVID we had to change our bed. The pillows were disgustingly stained. Almost made me puke that I had slept on them the night before. This property should be shut down.

The quality of this course has gone downhill in recent years. I went for a round at the start of the season. Although it was a good deal, I could get better golf elsewhere for the same price. Gardens around tee boxes are overgrown with weeds and several greens were out of commission. Not the same upkeep as when the property was under the Delta Hotels banner. I will not be playing this course again until some significant improvements are made. The one positive is that the employees in the pro shop were friendly and got me out on the course quickly.

I can only rate the Pinestone on their customer service as I had to cancel my planned stay due to the Covid 19 virus. They waived their cancellation fee totally due to the circumstances and said they wanted all their customers to be saife and healthy. The woman I spoke with was l kind and caring. At least 4 stars for their handling of this difficult situation!

This hotel is well priced but is very rundown. The hallways smell, the rooms smell, there are rips and tears. The staff were great to deal with when I phoned to make reservations and changes which is why I gave them two stars. I would not stay here again in the condition it is in.
