We had three amazing days in this hotel. Special thanks goes to super friendly waiter (unfortunately don't know his name) and receptionist (Miha) who were extremely professional, positive and friendly. Hotel has a top location. Rooms are great. I would highly recommend it. I would only add more options for vegetarians or some other special diets and improve desserts at dinners.
Now, this only applies to ski teams staying at this hotel for the duration of the competitions. The waiters and receptionists are all extremely friendly and very helpful, there is nothing to complain about. A big minus, however, is the food that the athletes can take from the buffet. The main ingredient of the meals is meat, which is offered twice a day in various combos - this is already too much for an average person and even more so for athletes. However, this is the only form of protein source, as vegetarian options are severely lacking. There are enough side dishes, but 90% of them are deep-fried, so they are not right for these kind of days either. It would be a big improvement for the hotel to think more about the nutritional value of the food for athletes and provide it in both a "normal" and vegetarian version.…
With kindergarten children we came to the Hotel Center for wintering for a week's stay. We had a great time. We were on the cross-country skiing, ate very well and slept well on comfortable beds. The views are amazing in winter. You have to see it with your own eyes.
On a wonderful day, when it was outside a staggering -20 C degrees. So we had three possibilities to indulge, cross-country skiing, walking with snowshoes and to take a course of avalanche rescue. At Hotel Center we were very positively greeted and welcomed from all the staff and we had a most wonderful self-service lunch with astonishing views over the famous biathlon track, where we saw many Olympic athletes training and who actually later on joined us at the restaurant. All the waiters were polite, positive and very attentive, food was great and I deeply recommend the service there. Summer or winter, both alike.
My wife and I enjoyed three days in sunny and snowy Pokljuka. The hotel offered us a warm refuge. After a morning cross-country skiing, we enjoyed a couple of hours in the sauna. Food otherwise was not very much to choose from, but it was tasty. We missed only some local supply of meat and dairy products.
I rarely give 5* to anything, but this place is wonderful. Staff is great, rooms cozy, food delicious. I am not big fan of winter and cold, but you feel like home here. We were there by business, but we had time for a divine walk and skiing. This is a must go hotel for a family weekend vacation.
Been there couple of times with faculty to conduct cross-country and nordic walking courses, both at winter & summer. The staff at the hotel is very polite and friendly. Food is good and tasteful, but is not diverse like in bigger hotels. The environment there is really nice and you can do lots of things there in winter or summer. You can go hiking, cross-country skiing, nordic walking, shooting with biathlon rifle,... and borrowing the equipment at the hotel:) It's just perfect getaway from the madness of real world. I enjoy coming back every time.
We stay 3 nights with my wife and little son (3 months old): everything was great, great position outside the noise of bled in the central week of august, good food, the hotel is very close to some great walkings to the plain and the triglav national park. It's a 3 stars hotel with really good price/quality. During our stay there were many biathlon atlethes from other countries training for the winter season and world cup. We want to come back next year!
On Saturday we (=husband, 2 kids and a dog) went hiking to Pokljuka. After visiting most of the sights and enjoying nature, we figured one day is not going to suffice for what we wanted to see, so we decided to stay for an extra day. It was getting dark so we went to the first hotel, which was Hotel Center. The receptionist was so incredibly kind: he gave us a room with 2-extra beds for our children (free of charge) and they welcomed our dog (most of the hotels have a strict no pets policy). We came to dinner at 9pm and still they fixed extra vegetarian dishes for me: a lovely vegetable soup, grilled cheese and also had an awesome fish&crab risotto in the self-service food area. The dessert was a apple strudel, which even the Austrian co-guests at the hotel couldn't get enough of :) I have never felt so welcome in any (not even the 5*) other hotel in my life: it was not just the receptionist, but also the lady that was overlooking the breakfast and the chef that prepared me this extra dinner at such a late hour. The free parking is right in front of the hotel. This time of year, there is 30 degrees in Ljubljana, but in Pokljuka they have 24 degrees which is perfect. I hope they keep the current staff forever…
We stayed here for one night during our trip around Slovenia. It was a fine accommodation just for that. The price for halfboard was more than reasonable. The location is good. The road to Pokljuka is beautiful, and not scary or bad at all (unlike other guests say). Especially compared to the Vrsic pass or the roads in the other mountain areas in Slovenia. It's probably a good location for walks into the forests - we had no time for that unfortunately. The rooms are good. The beds are quite close to the floor, but good matrasses. The shower cabin was leaking quite a bit. Otherwise very clean and quite spacious room. The staff is friendly. The diner was very good. Not traditional, but very fresh, great dessert. The breakfast was OK.The coffee and the orange juice (might as well call it "orange water") come from a machine, and they're simply disgusting. Everything else was fine.…
