The property is a very interesting and fairly historic 'Grand Maison' set in its own grounds on the edge of a very small village. The owners are welcoming and keen to help you with ideas on what to do and where to eat. The rooms are classic and interesting, quirky would be a fair description, they were clean and well...

It is a nice and very quiet place with a special atmosphere, rooms are basic and a bit shabby, but clean, the owner is a friendly, open-minded person who gives good tips about what to see and where to eat in the neighbourhood. There is a served breakfast (coffee / tea and croissant / baguette and butter and jam).

We had a very pleasant stay in this original country house, set in established, peaceful gardens. The room was clean and comfortable, not for those who want modern features. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, we lingered over shared continental breakfast with other guests at the huge original dining table with antique tea and coffee pots. Our hosts helped us...

We have just returned from a 6 night stay and loved it there. A great location, quiet at night but close to some lovely seaside villages. Lovely room with large bed (the Iris) and crisp white bed linen. Fresh bread, croissants and coffee foe breakfast. If you fancy lunch in the village, you can have it for €12 with a...

The American owners are very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is good (croissants, baguette, jam). The B&B's location is just perfect, right in the middle of the beautiful cote d'albatre landscape. We had a good sleep, no noise at all during the night. The house itself is quite old and could do with some updating.

We stayed at Chalet Bel Event some years ago and I really don’t know why we left it so long before going back. In lovely countryside near the coast between Fecamp and Dieppe, a hop and a skip from Rouen, it’s ideal for a pre or post ferry stopover, or a base for doing the Normandy beaches and cemeteries, or...

We spent a night here before taking the ferry from Le Havre and wished we could have stayed longer. The building itself is charming and full of character and history. We stayed in the Sunflower room which was absolutely perfect for a stopover - we had a very good night's sleep. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating and only...

We stayed here for two nights at the start of a visit to Normandy. It is conveniently situated not too far (but not too close!) to the ferry at Dieppe. The Chalet is a beautiful old house furnished in a style that complemented its charms. We chose the Iris room, which is the largest, double aspect and with a huge bathroom...

This property is a large B&B with 5 bedrooms. The property is charming and features old style furniture which compliements this beautiful old french home. We stayed with our baby (14 months) and the owners were REALLY helpful, they were not fully booked so let us put our son in the room next door so we had some piece and...

My wife and I were looking for a "home base" Bed and Breakfast (Chambre d'hote) in Normandie, We ran across the website of the Chalet du Bel Event <http://www.chaletdubelevent.com/le%20Bel%20Event%20-%20Welcome.html> and reserved a room online. My French is not the best, but we were most surprised to find that it's run chiefly by two brothers, Dan and Bill Westhead, supplemented by...
