We spent a wonderful time during our stay at Salary Bay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the villa was comfortable with great view on the ocean. The Diving center is recommended! We will definitely go back 😊

The Salary Bay is one of the best Lodges on the Vezo Coast South West of Madagascar worthy of a Palace at the seaside. The Chef of the restaurant offers daily different seafood caught directly at sea off the hotel. The one of its best nautical activities is the whale excursion followed by a scuba diving off the lagoon with the experienced skipper Mr Fred. This Lodge is a five-hour drive from Toliara. But its great advantage, it has his private airfield.

Waves crashing on the reef, villagers fishing for our lunch in the bay, canoes sailing the crystal blue waters right outside our door, delicious seafood and yummy desserts . . . these are just a few of my memories of Salary Bay Resort. Our bungalow overlooked the reef and gave us a wonderful view of life upon it. Its roof rose above the walls leaving airy space. It almost made me forget I was still in a developing world with all of its challenges. Then, villagers in out-rigger canoes sailed into sight and brought me back to reality. Salary Bay Resort is squarely set in Madagascar. Where else could I eat breakfast in an open air restaurant, overlooking Mozambique Channel, then be escorted to begin snorkeling on the reef. I could think of no better place to abandon my cell phone and enjoy not being encumbered by Wi-Fi for much of the day.

We stayed for two nights at this resort run by a French lady. Beautiful setting with crystal blue water and white sandy beaches. Beach immediately outside the hotel was cleaned every morning, but rubbish and lots of seaweed accumulates further round the bay. Bungalows were stylish, comfortable and clean. Each one had a small patio with deckchairs and solar-powered hot water. Staff were incredibly friendly. Restaurant has great views, but the food was rather average. Very relaxing, but felt Mediterranean, rather than a Madagascan experience.

After a few days drive along the coast, from Morondava, Salary is the best and highlight. The beach is blue and crystal clear water with white sandy. Best for your rest, and relaxing. Spent three nights there, and would like to spend more.
