We stayed 1 night in the Eagle Harbor Hotel and it was a pleasant stay. We had a queen room and it looked just like the picture. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend this hotel. We did not eat at the restaurant but when we checked in at the desk the food smelt Yummy. Wish we could have eaten there but had other plans.
This review pertains to the lodging portion, as we did not eat in the restaurant. It was pre-season and wasn't open on the night we would have eaten there. The lodging is clean and comfortable and quiet, incredibly so for those from noisy suburban or urban environments, like us. The check-in is smooth and easy and they care if you need any help. Its central location on the Keewenaw coast is why we chose it and that fit the bill, especially if you like sunsets! Internet isn't the greatest, but if you come up here, leave that noise behind, too.
Up snowmobiling this past weekend. Had great experience at this place. Food and service was grade A! I had the olive burger and it was perfect! All my buddies were impressed. HIGHLY recommend to anybody going to the Keewanaw!
My family and I stayed 4 nights in the apartment at EHI. Absolutely, love it. The apartment was great, clean, comfortable, and perfect size. You cannot ask for better owners, Dave and Joann are awesome! The restaurant has great food - especially the pizza! Beach right around the corner, park down the street for our your boys, short drive to Copper Harbor and many other attractions. You can't beat the location. I highly recommend Eagle Harbor Inn - both the Motel and the Restaurant. This will be an annual family trip for us!
We recently stayed here at Eagle River Inn. The motel is also attached to the restaraunt / bar area. I will be doing a review on that area also. Our room was a queen room, with a good amount of space, as well as table and chairs. A coffee maker is also in the room too. In addition they have a flat screen TV with cable, and a smaller fridge for items you want kept cold. Great setup for evenings when you want to lay back after a day of excursions and doing a lot of things. Location is the key here and the area of Eagle Harbor, as there is a beach area down the street as well as the Eagle Harbor Inn restaraunt next door. Eagle Harbor Inn is a great home base for visiting the area. I highly recommend Eagle Harbor Inn, as the small hometown and laid back feeling. We will be back on our return visits to the area. They also offer several types of rooms for your needs. They are open year round, so this makes a perfect base for winter sports. I am attaching a few pictures of our queen room to give a better insight of what the queen room looks like. So go enjoy the area. Snowman : O )…
We were traveling with friends who have gluten free and other dietary restrictions and ask a lot of menu questions. The wait staff simply could not have been more accommodating. They were outstanding. Everyone found something delicious. The Lake Superior white fish was spectacular. Very fresh. Good bar selection. Super friendly staff. Very pleasant atmosphere. Not a large restaurant. Very cozy. Not expensive. Very good
This is a good location if you're going to drive to different areas on the peninsula and see things. The place is nice, food was excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's quiet, even when the restaurant is busy, and they have a Biergarten to sit in. A 10 minute drive will take you to the Great Sandy Beach (there's no sand there to speak of), an excellent place to relax or walk your 4 legged friends. There's no place to get breakfast or supplies here, the closest is a 30 minute drive. That's no problem, just plan for it
We have a few more days to eat in copper harbor but it’s a pretty safe bet we’ve found the best restaurant so far. We ate at slims in Mohawk. Not so good Fitzgerald’s in eagle river. So so. Keweenaw country club. Not good this time at all If we find something better in the next 2-3 days. I’ll write about it but for now. Eagle harbor inn. Has our vote all the way. The full rack of ribs was excellent. Wife and granddaughter loved there pizza. And my grand son gave his thumbs up on the chicken strips out for now from Kalamazoo mich
Everything you need for a great stay---coffee, refrigerator, comfy beds and pillows, plush towels and nice amenities. There's an on site sauna for guests use. And the wonderful Eagle Harbor Inn restaurant is right there for lunch and dinner. We didn't stay in the one bedroom full apartment, but did take a peak at the wonderful space---all updated with tasteful furnishings. It's available by the week or month, I think. The location is a short walk to the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and the viewing deck for the famous Lake Superior sunsets. White sand beach is just over a few streets.
Pleasant surprise. Went to see the Eagle Harbor lighthouse and was hungry for lunch. Didn't know where to go...saw Eagle Harbor Inn and decided to pull in. What a great meal. We had a grilled trout sandwich and potato skins...don't order the fries, etc. Get the trout, potato skins and split it with your other half. You won't be sorry...considering you're in the middle of nowhere.
