The perfect getaway for Mt. Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain. Charming chalet suites & a romantic honeymoon log cabin are tucked in the national forest, just 1 mile outside the northeast entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park & 7 miles from Crystal Mountain and its new Mt. Rainier Gondola. Soak in our hot tub and swim in our year-round heated pool (heated to 90° in the winter) -- we're Crystal and Mt. Rainier's only accommodations with both. Fireplaces, small fully equipped kitchens and renovated mountain lodge style accommodations are perfect for couples and families. Guests love our evening activities (weekends, holidays and summers) such as bonfires, movie nights, karaoke, crafts parties, and summer barbecues. Hike, sightsee, bike, ride horses, play disc golf in the summer. Ski, snowshoe and play in the snow in the winter. Open year-round.

The LOGE Alta Crystal hotel offers a prime location that many travelers find perfect for outdoor activities, with the added benefit of a convenient shuttle service. The service at the hotel is generally praised for its attentiveness and efficiency. While the hotel's amenities, including well-equipped kitchens and clean pools, are often appreciated, some guests have called out maintenance issues. Opinions on the rooms and atmosphere are mixed; they are recognized for their spaciousness but criticized for dated decor. Cleanliness is typically satisfactory, though there have been some inconsistencies. However, some travelers feel the hotel's value does not match the quality provided.

Wow, what a gem of a place! My husband and our little dog had such a nice visit. We stayed 3 nights. They have so many nice little touches in the suites, they provided shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. In the kitchen coffee, cookies and the sweetest little doggie bag ever! They provided a sheet for her with her own ball, a cookie, and poop bags. Everything in the kitchen that you need to cook a meal and they even have meals you can purchase and make in your room. ..yum! The little store also has just about anything you may need. Wow...did I say how beautiful it's there? Thank you also to the wonderful staff, you made the stay even nicer. Debra & Larry Giunchigliani

Three adults stayed in a loft chalet suite over Labor Day weekend. It was ideal for what we wanted. Any more of us would have felt cramped. Cooking facilities were available but small. We brought pre-prepared meals which we heated up; and our own hand soap for the kitchen after reading other reviews. The shop on-site was reasonably well stocked and very friendly. The main buildings were closer to the road than expected but noise was minimum. Pool looked lovely but closed due to COVID. Ideal location for access to Crystal Mountain and Sunrise and all that we wanted to do.

We spent the Memorial Day weekend with our two younger kids. Of course the location cannot be beat, and on top of that the room ( we got the loft) is very well appointed and we have everything we need and more. There are plenty of closet space, two full bathrooms, one bed room, two more beds at the loft. The kids got to watch a bit of cable tv, and while the kitchen is compact It has everything from oven to dishwasher. The kids tremendously enjoyed the warm outdoor pool which is very clean, and we enjoyed the hot tub. The grounds and pool area are very well kept. At night the resort is quiet, and the pool and hot tub are close by 9:30, but if someone in your party like to retire early you may want to ask for a room facing away from the pool.
I see a lot of reviews complaining about the Rigid (non)cancellation policy, all I can say that the policy is very clearly stated before you reserve and I think is very fair.

We spent one night in unit 1A in late June. Washington was going through an unusual heatwave and temperatures in the area had been in the 90s and 100s. Unfortunately, we did not realize that there was no air conditioning, which I also realize has not necessarily been needed much in the past in this area, although climate change may make them want to reconsider having AC in the future.

When we checked in, our room was quite warm, in the mid-80s. We couldn't open the windows since some of the screens were ill-fitted or lacking and we did need mosquitoes in the room. Thankfully, we were given a fan to use by the front desk, which was helpful.

The room was cozy and had a fully equipped kitchen. The microwave is placed very high and if you are not tall, you will likely need to stand on a chair to reach it. Because it was so hot outside, we did not explore the grounds of the resort.

The reception area has some basic food, drink, and other grocery items for purchase. They even had wines by the bottle although considering the reception was well into the upper 80s inside and the wines were unrefrigerated, I would hesitate to purchase them.

We did try one of the meals that the resort advertises on their website under "in-room dining" for between $14 and $17. While they sounded good online they were a big disappointment. They are actually nothing more than very small trays of microwavable frozen food that tasted awful and are were horribly overpriced.

The bedroom was very tight, a bit dark, and there was not much space around the queen size bed. We were grossed out to find a wad of used tissues in the dresser drawer next to the bed. Ick!

There are not a lot of other choices of places to stay in the area and the place may have been more enjoyable in cooler weather, but I would not stay there again during the heat of summer.

Hi Kurt P! Thank you for the feedback as we're always seeking ways to improve our quality and service. As you know, Washington is not known for our heatwaves but we absolutely felt it this year and are already looking to install A/C units in preparation for next summer. We're also looking at expanding our food options to provide more variety and healthier/delicious food choices for our guests as we understand there are limited options in the surrounding area. We look forward to having you back soon and we're confident you'll have an enjoyable guest experience. Safe travels!

Spent the 4th of July weekend with my small dog in a 1BDR chalet on the first floor, across from the pool. The room was comfortable with a small kitchenette. It was a bit challenging to use the microwave as I needed to climb on a step stool but space is a premium with a small “dorm” refrigerator/freezer in the cubbies. A catered BBQ dinner was very nice and at a very reasonable cost ($20). While I was out for about an hour, the room smoke alarms started chirping due to low batteries and as a result, freaked out my little dog in that when I returned, he was hiding in the bathtub. But management quickly replaced all the batteries and even stopped by with a bottle of red wine as an apology.

A short drive to Crystal Mountain resort to take the gondola up to Summit Restaurant with a phenomenal view of Mt. Rainier. You can hike back down, about 3.1 miles down to the parking lot. Lots of trails throughout 410. Enumclaw (about 35 mins.) was a neat little town of restaurants, wine bar, etc.

NOTE: The biggest negative of this resort is the amount of noise my upstairs neighbor with their three small children made after quiet hours. I don’t think they realized that stomping and running around on the wood floors seriously disturbs the downstairs neighbors. Even with the white noise machine and the floor fans running at full capacity to drown out the late night noise, you can still here the “zoo” upstairs. There’s not much management can do other than warn folks, but the buildings are old and it is what it is. I just know that if I stay again, I’ll make sure to stay in an upstairs unit or possibly in one of the cabins.

Alta Crystal Resort’s Creekside Cabin is NOT a peaceful, quiet cabin in the woods. I will leave my expectations out of this, and simply report what I wish I had known prior to spending over $800 for two nights.

THE GOOD: The cabin is spacious and bed was very comfortable. Staff offered early check-in the day of our arrival.

THE BAD: The cabin is right next to the highway, so you will hear the noise from an endless stream of cars racing by on their way to and from Crystal Mountain. On the subject of noise, there is a utility/laundry room that shares the cabin. That’s right, this cabin also plays host to the laundry facilities for the resort. Throughout the day you will hear continual sounds of carts of laundry being rolled in and out,
thumping, bumping, voices of housekeeping staff, and the noise of the commercial washing machines. (The management’s response was simply to say they assume that occupants will be out enjoying the mountain during the day.) Even the gas fireplace is noisy, coming on with a whooshing bang when the temperature drops below the thermostat setting. Since our ski plans were precluded by injury, we thought we’d enjoy a nice quiet mountain getaway in “the deepest quiet of the forest,” as the resort’s welcome card says. Not even close.

The last thing that bears noting is that one wall has significant leaking, so we had a rain puddle on the floor and the sofa against that wall was damp.

The resort should disclose that you are sharing the space with a laundry/utility room. Considering the issues outlined above, this “peaceful” cabin is outrageously overpriced and we will not be back.

We loved our charming Hawthorne Cabin. Alta Crystal’s location and amenities were great, and the staff was helpful.

The cabin’s location is wonderfully quiet. The deck and hot tub face away from the rest of the resort, and are within earshot of a bubbling creek. Lots of outdoor seating. We enjoyed the walking trails around the property.

The cabin could use a little updating (some peeling veneers, chipped tile, warped window screen, etc.) but was cute and comfortable. Fans were provided. The loft bedroom and balcony are very romantic. Stairs up to the loft were carpeted and had a landing and handrail, so they were easy to navigate.

The bathroom was small, but had good counter and shelf space. Dispensers in the bathtub provided nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The shower water pressure and temperature were excellent, but the drain was slow and left us standing in water after a short time. (I reported this to staff.)

The kitchen had the basics. Salt and pepper were provided, as well as one pot’s worth of coffee. The fridge is dorm size; it would be hard to store enough food for more than a couple of days. (The gift shop did have a well chosen selection of snacks, drinks, and basic foods, including salad, ice cream, and ground beef.) I would have liked some ice, but there was so much frost in the little freezer, it left no room for ice trays.

The wifi was surprisingly OK for the remote location. Devices didn’t stay connected when not in use, but after a brief connection delay, internet service was fast enough to stream short videos. We had decent Verizon voice service, but data was slow.

Very nice property; I would stay here again. The location near Mount Rainier can’t be beat!

We stayed twice at Alta Crystal Resort. The first time was just after they reopened the resort, closed due to the coronavirus. We loved it so much that we decided to go back so we could continue to explore Crystal Mountain and Mt. Rainier NP. We stayed in a single cabin with a KING:) size bed, and a private jacuzzi on the private porch. We loved it. The cabin is a little noisy because being located close to the main road, but it did not impair our sleep whatsoever.
Our only concern was about sanitation: there was no specific communication about the new steps taken by ownership or management as to the sanitation of the accommodations, which these days is becoming essential. Although we did not think there was any immediate concerns, it would be nice to have some reassurance about the steps taken to ensure that each room was sanitized, not just cleaned.
We had a fantastic relaxing weekend nonetheless.
Hike to do from the resort: Goat Falls: a hidden gem.

We had a great family adventure. Alta Crystal was ok accommodations and nice people. It’s super close to Crystal with a friendly driver and convenient shuttle to the ticket window. Pool is salt water and warm (as promised), hot tub was nice after a day of skiing. The staff is extremely friendly and super helpful. They have movies and popcorn available for kids and adults (so fun).

Opportunities: Accommodations are ok, but as others have mentioned, outdated. The furniture (especially the living room couches and beds) need updating, and it would be great if both sides of the bed had side tables. We were a bit surprised to walk into our loft to a smoldery fire smell from the fireplace… and a full dishwasher we got to unload. Also, sticky tables and counters. Just a few things keeping me from giving it all five stars.

Tips for future guests: Bring your own dark roast ground coffee, and Clorox wipes. The refrigerator is tiny, so if you have lots to keep cold, better bring a cooler. They have small pool towels, bring a bigger one if you wish! Don’t forget your cheese tray (like I did!), they have butter, eggs and huckleberry syrup at the store that you can buy, but no cheese.

Good Day Zaggagal Thank you so much for the feedback on your recent stay. We're so glad you enjoyed the pool, hot tub, staff and location. I will be sure to pass along your comments to the team so that we can improve our operations moving forward. We do use Lysol on most surfaces and find we do have a residue sometimes if we use too much product so I'll bring that to the attention of the Housekeeping Supervisor. We do also remediate for smells though the cost of a real wood burning fireplace will always be at least some residual smell of fire in the unit. We are actually experimenting with having a small container full of either vinegar or coffee to neutralize any remaining fire odors. We are also in the process of upgrading some of our furniture and kitchen smallwares and will be continuing that process over the coming year. We hope to have another chance to meet your five star standards and I invite you to contact me before your next stay so that I can ensure you are comfortable. Thank you again for the helpful information and we'll see you back soon! Regards, Darren

Went up for a weekend and I was truly blown away. To start the room was massive with a full kitchen area (This means bring food to cook!). The kitchen is stocked with all the pots and pans, plates, glasses and silverware. There are a few general stores on the way there if you forget something but even better the resort has a small shop.
The location is a few minutes from the gondola ride and the views from there are amazing. There are also a bunch of trails the resort has marked witch was a really nice treat. There's also a pool and hot tub on sight as well.
Most importantly the staff was so nice and knowledgeable. The cleanliness of the rooms, pools and property was immaculate. The person working at the store was incredibly helpful.

Good Morning! Yes we are a intimate hotel in a remote location. It's what makes us special but we also don't have the ability to adjust quickly to last minute cancellations. Deposits taken are non refundable but they can be transferred to another party. We suggest you use trip insurance as it is an affordable and easy way to protect your investment should you need to cancel for unforeseeable reasons.

We have a small grocery store on-site with lots of real food, plus small quantities like eggs by the egg, butter by the stick, etc. There are a Safeway & QFC in Enumclaw and you will pass them if you're coming from Seattle or Tacoma. Or, if you're coming from the south, there is an IGA in Packwood. Greenwater also has a small general store. In other words, you won't starve:)

Yes, of course:) The One Bedroom Suites and Honeymoon Cabin all have private bathrooms with bath tubs. The Loft Suites actually have two bathrooms -- one on the lower level with a bath tub and one upstairs with a shower. Hope this helps.
