Our family had an amazing get away at Wells Gray Ranch. The 4 of us were very comfortable staying in the Deluxe Cabin and had everything we needed for a relaxing and peaceful stay. Elvira and Daniel were so accommodating and knowledgeable. They even offered different exploration ideas catering to our young children. The hosts truly love what they do and it shows! If you are in need of a beautiful and relaxing get away like we were, I would recommend booking 100%.
This beautiful place, tucked right within the magical landscape of Wells Grey Provincial Park, is truly a retreat for the soul and respite from the troubled world that we live in. The log cabins are beautiful and rustic, yet well-appointed (the beds are very comfortable), the furnishings simple but more than adequate and the atmosphere is cozy simplicity. The owners, Daniel and Elvira, were a great source of tips and information. They obviously enjoy the hospitality business and it shows in their commitment to ensuring their guests have an amazing stay. The "piece de resistance" is the fact that these lodgings are nestled right in the midst of some of most spectacular winter scenery this province has to offer. Snow-shoe hikes lead to cascading waterfalls, cross country ski trails lead to abandoned homesteads, and hikes (sometimes following the odd moose track) take you to sweeping vistas. Just a drive along the main road is like a journey down winter wonderland. Furthermore, during this time of Covid-19, Elvira and Daniel take their sanitization protocols seriously and it is important for you to do your part too and remain Covid-conscious. If you do go, take all your own food, avoid shopping in Clearwater, BC to protect this relatively small and isolated community, enjoy the comfort and isolation of your cabin, the warm fireplace and maintain physical distancing on the trails. It’s the perfect place to delve deep into yourself and revel in the wide open spaces that allow perfect physical distancing in this beautiful province. Thank you, Elvira and Daniel for a wonderful holiday!…
Truly magical ! We stayed during Christmas and it was better than we could have imagined. The room was perfect , the bed was comfortable and cozy , we used the kitchenette for our meals during the holiday and it was really fun to get back to the basics ! The park was outstanding and it felt as though we had it to ourselves. I can’t wait to go back to the ranch and explore more. Daniel and Elvira are wonderful thoughtful hosts ! They have really done an amazing job with keeping the ranch historical yet updating it for those of us who really enjoy comfort and luxury after a long day of hiking. Can’t wait to go back !!
I just wanted to start this off and say thank you to Elvira and Daniel. Without you two our stay would not have been as amazing as it was. Where do I start this... My partner and I were looking for a place where we could spend a week camping and found this gem of a place. Upon arriving we were met with a smile and a really friendly "hello" from Elvira and her husband Daniel. Our campsite was clean, stocked up on firewood and had a certain type of charm to it. We were in our own little world on their property pretty much, we couldn't see or hear anyone else, it was perfect! We had deer come through our campsite, how often does that happen?? Their property is up-kept in such a great fashion and I do have to say that a lot of love and time has gone into this property! They will help you figure out your days with activities and if there is something you want to do in the park, they can make it happen. The community in the area is filled with amazing and lovely people... Whenever we would leave our secluded campsite and venture to the main buildings, there were people coming by just to say hi to Elvira and Daniel. That should be testimony in itself to their warm and lovely characters. I honestly could go on and on about this place... It will always be our place to stay whenever we visit the area! I just wanted to say thank you again to Elvira and Daniel, you two are amazing human beings!…
Spent 4 nights in a deluxe cabin at Wells Gray Guest Ranch, our kids tented there, and we all had the most relaxing and fun weekend. Beautiful property, so clean, well maintained, peaceful and quiet - awesome!! They are not serving meals because of COVID but the saloon was open and it was great to get a cold beer and take it back to our deck. Campfire at night with the kids, and loads of free firewood. Shower house for the campers was immaculate and well laid out. Nice big covered cooking/eating shelters too if you are camping. Cabin was so comfortable and they took care of every need, even during a power outage after the storm. Beds were comfortable and lots of little extras. We were able to make all our own meals in the kitchenette (my son had his bbq along too), and we enjoyed watching the deer and sandcranes in the field. So close to everything in Wells Gray Park without having to drive up from Clearwater. Hosts are so friendly and helpful, always available, but not "in your face" all the time. Highly recommend this place!!…
