This motel is right on the main toad but accessible by side streets. It is perpendicular to the main road.I had requested a road away from the street and that’s what we got - Room 118, as faraway as possible from the road. We could just hear the traffic as a low background noise. The motel is neatly presented on the outside although I would to have loved to attack the weeds (I’m a gardener). Inside,the room was clean and unexpectantly large. The airconditioning was adequate for the very hot day but my husband kept asking if I was sure it was on. We eventually got the microwave to work @$#. The wifi was good. The bedding was soft and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For the price, we were happy with our stay at The Ace for one night.

The room was not big but it was oke for a night. We could park our car just in the front of the door so it was easy for our luggages. As the motel location is on the side of the busy road, asking fo the room at the back side would be better. On the opposite of the motel is the visitor centre of Wells Gray area. There was no breakfast but there were some fastfood restaurants nearby. We got an advice from the owner to go to a chinese restaurant for the diner. We had a good night sleep, btw.

The check in was smooth, and the people working here were fantastic. The room was small but had everything you'd need. The bed was very soft but also comfortable, and the room was very clean. The back side of the hotel is definitely quieter than the front, but I didn't hear any highway noise.

To begin with, we were taken advantage of on the price, doubled by the owner when we arrived late and he knew that all other places were booked up, making this establishment the highest price hotel/motel in town.
In the morning, the shower wouldn't turn on. We went to the office and the sign said to come back at 9AM.
When I gave back the key at about the time, the owner said we should have phoned, then claimed that there was a sign in the bathroom with a Rube-Goldberg way of turning on the shower. He came up and there was no sign. Then he claimed we should have called him. Read your sign.
No apologies, in fact the reverse. We were given the finger by his wife. Hey, they had our money. Why should they care about service.
Such class, these folks.
All in all a disgusting experience. We learnt too late about this place's awful reputation. The worst motel in town, and it was borne out. We only understood later why they don't want to be around when their clientele check out.
A motel is to sleep and shower and we were not given the chance for half of what we paid at double the rate.
Give this motel the pass it deserves.

We had two nights in Clearwater and this little gem delivered in spades. It's close to amenities you can walk to. It's great for families or couples. The owners were attentive. They have stock of items you may need like a kettle, books in various languages, cutlery etc. There is table in room to eat and picnic tables outside. It's quiet and very clean. We'd stay here again if in the area.

What an outdated Motel! Our room had a mini fridge that did not work, the TV was on top microwave and almost fell off. The bathroom was yucky with an old tub/shower and a very used bathslip mat. The bathroom cieling was peeling, the towels were dirty and the toilet was very old and didnt flush properly! The bed coverings were old and out dated and made you feel very dirty! The carpet was stained and again outdated! The whole room stunk like mold! I would never stay here again! Save your money and find a better place!

We stayed at the Ace Western for one night when we were traveling through Clearwater. The outside of the motel was top notch clean which is always a good sign. We asked to look at the room before committing and Mr. Owner gladly obliged. The room had new carpet. Comfy bed and pillows. Small bathroom but clean. And it was supper quiet. It’s an older establishment but well managed and maintained. And the price was right. With friendly service. I’d stay again.

Stopped here overnight on the way to the island. Room was small but clean, bed soft but comfortable, motel was super quiet . Check-in was easy, staff helpful and followed covid protocols. Definitely recommended.

An older property that still looked pretty good. The floors were clean, but some of the walls near the back of the room and the ceiling were dirty. We checked in late and I was too tired to get up close to the ceiling to see if it was dirt, stains or tiny bugs. Other than that everything was fine. Very good water pressure for the shower. Quick, easy check in. Office doesn't open until 9am, at least at this time of year.

Spent two nights at the Ace. Room was clean, comfortable and staff were friendly. The bed was good quality and the heating in the room was easy to control. Front end staff efficient and friendly. Would stay here again when in Clearwater.
