The Lake House was our last stop on a 3 week circle road trip through BC and Alberta. Clearwater is only 5 hours from Vancouver, and our stay at the Lake House and its proximity to the fabulous Wells Gray Park made the 3 final days of our vacation truly memorable. Mavis and Gord are wonderful hosts; they are really interesting and friendly and have added "the little touches" to the B&B that we really enjoyed. For example, each patio has a small table and two chairs, plus 2 very comfortable lounge chairs. Our lovely large room had a comfortable king bed, plenty of storage space (including 2 luggage racks), a comfy couch and chair (with cozy throw blankets), a lovely bathroom with a rain shower, and a coffee maker, kettle, microwave and small frig. In addition, Mavis & Gord provided some dishes, so we were able to heat up leftovers for our dinner one night. (Mavis collected the dirty dishes the next morning, and they "magically" reappeared clean later in the day... thanks, Mavis!) There is also a BBQ available for guest use (although we didn't use it). Sitting in the two chairs at the end of the (slightly wobbly) dock is as appealing as it looks in the photos, and we used the canoe and kayaks to paddle around the clear lily-padded lake. (We spotted turtles on a log while we were paddling.) Mavis and Gord built a campfire on our last night, and it was a perfect way to end our holiday. All of the breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and delivered by Mavis to our patio. The Lake House is a lovely property with fabulous hosts and I highly recommend it!

Mavis and Gord have created an idyllic retreat. The room is beautiful, comfortable, and bright, with every detail well thought out. The location is so peaceful, right on a beautiful lake with kayaks, canoes, loons, views, and warm water to swim in. Delicious breakfast is delivered to the private deck by Mavis who can answer all kinds of questions about the area. We loved our two nights here!

Gord and Mavis were very accommodating . The view every morning was such a treat to wake up to. Seeing Kokanee Salmon swim past the dock , the lily pads in bloom, having a fire by the lake , WOW!!! The bed was very comfortable. Lots of storage for our clothes . We spent a few days hiking to the various falls in Wells gray Park, Such a treat. The rainfall shower was a big hit with my partner. There where many options for outdoor amenities for water activities such as canoes, kayaks, row boat and paddle boards. We could have spent a few more days to be able to see and do everything we wanted . Never enough time ... Thank you Mavis and Gord. Great hosts.

We stayed for 2 nights we were made to feel very welcome by Mavis, a super host! We were blessed with glorious sunshine during our stay which meant we could enjoy the lake and surroundings to it's full extent. We took one of the canoes out - so peaceful and beautiful. The suites are very comfortable and well equipped. Patio doors leading on to a private seating area, overlooking the lake. We ordered a take our pizza one night which we were able to eat outdoors as Mavis kindly lit the fire pit. A perfect evening. Clearwater itself is not a town, just a drive through area with a supermarket, visitor information and a liquor store. We walked to The Painted Turtle which was just coming to the end of their season. Beware, the walk is along a main road which was very dark on our return journey. A short car ride into the Wells Grey Provincial Park - to see the many waterfalls. Oh of course- the amazing breakfasts delivered to our patio every morning. Can recommend 100%. A perfect, relaxing stay which 2as welcome after a week on the road.

This bed and breakfast is simply brilliant. The location is stunning. You are able to sit on the dock, canoe on the amazingly calm and tranquil lake or just sit on your private patio area. Everything you need is available. Sitting outside for your breakfast is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Your hosts are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We loved it here.

We spent 3 nights at the Lake House in late August 2022 and they were the most enjoyable of our entire 3 week trip across Canada! Mavis and Gord are wonderful hosts and took the time to chat to us about their beautiful house and life in Canada in general. Mavis very kindly came back to me with the dates I was after when they became available, as she'd promised to do. The room was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, very well-equipped and had its own private patio area with wonderful views of the lake. Watching a Bald Eagle across the lake, while we were enjoying one of Mavis's delicious and varied breakfasts, was one of the highlights of our trip! And with the aid of the bird book in our room, we were able to identify the family of woodpeckers we saw down by the lake. We loved using the selection of canoes and the paddle board available for guests and sitting out on the jetty in the evening sun with a drink in hand. BBQs and fuel were available too. The Lake House is close to a good supermarket and other shops and services which was very convenient. We'd highly recommend rafting with Interior Whitewater Rafting in Clearwater while you are there. A very exciting experience organised by a long established company which focuses on ensuring you have a great time - but safely! An unforgettable stay all round - thank you, Mavis and Gord!

We stayed at the Lake House from July 26th to July 28th, 2022. Could have stayed for a few more days though. It was fantastic. Mavis and Gord, the owners, did everything to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was served on the private patio in front of our room, with a fantastic view. The room was cool, clean and very spacious. We had a fridge and a microwave, so we did not have to go out to eat at all. We could use kayaks, paddleboard, Cannes and rowboat, for free. Plus we could swim in the beautiful Lake. Only minus was too many HUNGRY mosquitoes late in the evening. We will certainly recommend this place to other travellers.

Thank you for staying with us and saving more adventures for another time perhaps. The water level in the lake was extra high this year so water activites were going strong. We are glad you had a good time and made use of all our amenities.

What a fantastic place to stay, and a beautiful park to explore. Mavis and Gord are the perfect hosts at this truly lovely B&B right on peaceful Dutch Lake. We will definitely visit again, if only for the delightful breakfasts on our private deck. This place is very special and we were so pleased we’d booked for 3 nights. Don’t miss out on the free canoes and other watercraft right from your very own boat dock! Wells Gray Park with its many trails and waterfalls is beautiful and so much less busy than Jasper or Lake Louise.
