We stayed at the Helmcken Falls for a day and a night. Unfortunately our program was so packed that we couldn't afford to stay longer but we would have loved to. Major attractions are the rustic location, great horses which are taken care off very well and clean shower and bathroom facilities. Special thanks go to Lynda, the waitress in...

We have spent just one night in the lodge. OK for the stop-over but definitely not for longer stay. Normal room with normal two king-size beds which is normal for majority of hotels in the region. More or less nothing in the room. No free WiFi. Noisy. Enough space for parking. Breakfast was not included but available for extra charge...

We were able to check in early which was great. The room was next to the washing/cleaning room. Enough parking space in front of the buildinf. There is no airco but a ceiling fan which works great. The room is small but has 2 queensize beds which are great. Small bathroom with shower in bath and no amnities. No water...

We stayed at their campground for two nights. We really enjoyed the view and the staff is alright. It's close to Helmcken Falls - obviously - and Clearwater Lake Tours. The lodge owns horses and you can buy wood for the fire pit. Not our best experience, but perfect as a stop-over.

After staying here an employee informed me that if I leave a gratuity they do not get to keep it. All gratuities are put in a pot and split between all employees at the end of the week. The employees do not actually know how much was in the pot. The owners take it all and do the split. There...

I was with my spouse. We slept for 2 nights in a log cabin room. That is a chalet with 4 apartments: 2 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. We had a spacious room on the second floor with two large beds and plenty of room for sitting and the suitcases and so. Complimentary tea and...

The location of the Helmcken falls lodge as an access point to Wells Grey is perfect, just meters from the old park entrance. While the staff were friendly, our room clean and sizeable (check before booking as the scope of rooms seems wide), the restaurant was a complete disaster: The service staff were inexperienced and lacked basic training (e.g. Never...

Stayed at this Lodge last week for 2 nights with my wife and 2 teenage kids. On arrival the staff (one lady) was very busy and really quite abrupt. In her defence we were 2 hours before check in so we went and had a look around for a couple of hours. The "area" is really wonderful so "definitely" go...

It's true that one doesn't expect too much from a restaurant in such a remote place, however this restaurant fails in all standards. True, it was 34 degrees Celsius and there is no A/C, but this is no excuse for a very over cooked and dry trout and a potato gratin that was swimming in butter and did not resemble...

If you don't mind the lack of a TV and complimentary wifi this is about the best place to explore Wells Gray from. Rooms are good, but it's a horse ranch as well and mosquitos are abundant, so forget sitting outside. We had a good breakfast once but we skipped the rather pricy dinners and went to Clearwater instead.
