The regent is an old house that has many interesting features, including original wood and stained glass. The proprietor, Jim, has a good sense of humor. He makes a good breakfast, and the table is set up so that conversation is encouraged. The rooms are a bit small but they are nice.

We come here whenever we are in the Amherst area to experience this gracious home away from home and to enjoy the hospitality and the wonderful breakfasts. We have stayed a week at a time and experienced a different and expertly prepared breakfast each morning! The spacious room, very comfortable bed, well appointed private bath and the access to the... We stayed in several B&Bs in NS but this was one of our favorites; the man of the house was in charge when we stayed; the wife and daughter were out of town, but lest you think we got less than we should have, au contraire, mon frere! He is a retired Colonel but he knows his way around a... More

A lovely accommodation tastefully displaying masterful Inuit art throughout. Our hosts made my wife and I feel very welcome. The room was comfortably appointed with amenities that included free wi-fi, modern television, in-room refrigerator and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, varied and generous. Conveniently located to many attractions. I would recommend and look forward to return.

A nicely restored older home, with gorgeous wood trim in the main areas and up the staircase. Rooms were very clean, and there was a comfy sitting area in the upper hallway for playing cards in the evening. Jim was a great host, and served a delicious french toast breakfast in the morning.

This house is lovingly kept. Most of the original features, such as stained glass and wood detailing, still exist in this delightful, turn of the last century, house. The house is located within walking distance to the town of Amherst. There are also several similar houses on the road to the town centre. The pub, Duncan's, is located about five... More

We booked this B & B a couple of days before our stay, and we're glad we did. The heritage home is beautiful with incredible woodwork throughout. The staircase is amazing! Our room was a nice size and comfortable. Everything was clean. The B & B is situated in a nice neighbourhood with beautiful heritage homes - great place for... More

Excellent accommodation! Jim and Gwen are friendly and hospitable. The room was Victorian with a modern bathroom, TV, wifi and all amenities. The food was plentiful and delicious. The 1898 Georgian home is full of original antiques as well as Inuit art.

This is a lovely 115 year old house with beautiful features. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is to die for! Great setting, great food and very friendly owner/operator. We plan to stay there again.

This B and B in the small town of Amherst, Nova Scotia was a wonderful find. An 1890's Victorian with all its original stained glass windows and carved wood staircase and mantels. Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms, beds, and bathrooms on the second floor although a bit dark on the way up. Lights over the bed that were actually bright enough... More
