Fairmont Hot Springs Resort garners mixed reviews, with guests enchanted by its cozy atmosphere, often highlighted by live music, yet some describe the decor as dated. The resort's cleanliness receives commendation, with particular praise for impeccable rooms and well-kept grounds. However, several guests question the value, pointing to the high costs relative to the dated facilities and additional fees. While the hot springs and scenic views are a hit, opinions on room quality and amenities suggest a need for modernization. The location earns accolades for its stunning mountain proximity, but service experiences vary, with some travelers encountering outstanding staff and others noting service shortcomings.

It was my first time on a road trip from Vancouver. It was a long drive but so worth it. The rooms itself our outdated but they are in the process of renovating. The hot springs...outdoor...hot and cold is amazing. Due to covid they have restricted access to only resort and RV guests. They have dif time slots available for RV guests and resort guest and clean for 30 mins in between each slot. Their staff are all wearing mask, and stand behind plexiglass. We feel very safe and the hotel is clean.

My 2 children woke up early and excited to jump in the pool everyday. Using the cold pool during the day and hot pool in the evening with spectacular mountain views! During the afternoon we also visited the craft activities led by their staff Diana (she is so friendly) our kids love her. She was so good withour kids and super friendly. She knew it was our first time to the resort and recommended other activities in the resort like free mini golf, tennis, tours etc. We ended up joining the pony ride for our kids $25 for 15 mins in the ranch under the resort. My kids had a blasts, it wasnt a small pony but a full size one. They absolutely love the experience esp riding horses with amazing mountain views.

Overall, despite the long drive, I am so happy that we visited this resort during all this uncertainty. Staff at the resort are friendly and made us feel safe. We will return again in the future

Wow, what a great review. I will pass your comments along to Denise in the activity centre. I think that's who you mean as we don't have a Diana. We are all working hard to keep the lodge a safe and fun place to be.

The good, so much wonderful potential, the mini golf was fun, and in good repair, you can get clubs & balls from the front desk if the activities group has left for the day.

The pools had a lifeguard watching how many people went into the pools etc, which is great at this time, however, he was more worried about his hair and one of his coworkers visits, to actually keep track.
The large pool is nice and warm, the “hot pool” next to it is very warm, and the hot soaking pool is not recommended for kids or pregnant women.

Lots of beautiful trails to explore and enjoy nature.

Because I went to the front desk multiple times and the very nice, apologetic employees sent our complaints on to management, I also sent 3 emails and have had no reply in 2 weeks from management, so I will write a review here.

25% off one night, when paying for 2 cabins for 3 nights, hardly makes up for the fact that I had to change the linens on the bunk bed in the Deluxe Cabins, from a previous guests stay.

Because our suitcases were already in the cabin, the front desk said they weren’t allowed to send housekeeping back in, so I would have to do it all, that’s unacceptable.
While changing the linens, we discovered the frame that the bunk mattress hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time, there was a bunch of hairs, crumbs etc on it.

The fridge hadn’t been cleaned inside, the coffee maker was dirty, inside the microwave was dirty, some of the dishes and the frying pan were dirty a previous guests facecloth was left in the cabin, one housecoat was missing, the other had been worn and shoved into the bedroom cupboard in a ball.
These are things we didn’t discover until we had already moved our belongings in.
There were crumbs all over the kitchen and the floor was so dusty dirty, that our pants on the floor were filthy when we picked them up.

Housekeeping will bring whatever you need during your stay and leave it on your deck.

The deck hadn’t been cleaned since winter as there was ice melt pellets still on it, the weeds all over the site were awful. The cabin had dust bunnies hanging all over, these things show it hadn’t been properly cleaned for months.
Just because they can’t see the dirt on the floor, counters etc, doesn’t excuse them from washing them.

I’m pretty sure, hotels should be on top of their game in regards to cleaning, right now.
How you send your guests into a filthy cabin and then expect them to clean it themselves, is unacceptable.

I strongly suggest thoroughly checking your cabin/ room before you move your belongings in.

We have wanted to visit this resort for years and finally we did it. We booked suite with two queen beds and pulled out sofa bed. Room 155 facing parking lot. Room is very spacious with bar station for prep breakfast (- stove ) Room is very dated but clean. Water pressure is great but would change the shower faucet as it not function really well. Pool has new rules due to Covid. Only for guests use but still time slot with limited people in pool.

Restaurants in the resort has the same menu. Nothing to choose much.. Invermere is 25 mins drive if you are looking to get other option.

I would go again but may be not right away.
We paid $270 all in per night.

This was our 7th year returning to stay in the loft/kitchenette room....Every year when we’re leaving we tell the front desk that the countertop stores does not stay on and the room is lacking thoroughly in silverware and dishes but every year we come back to find none of the suggestions we’ve made have been taken seriously....and no improvements have been made on the room yet the price continues to go up. We took the time while we were there to get names of other facilities to check on for staying next year

We stayed as a family at Fairmont hot springs hotel. We made a reservation early December for 730pm new year's eve for 10 people at the Antlers at the lodge restaurant. We were told, at 730, that they are busy and to come back in 15 minutes. We came back 15 minutes later and were told we can sit separately and we were seated at 830 at 2 different tables. They told us that the tables are bolted down and can't be moved and the ones that can be moved are full. The servings were small (I got one small fingerling potato, the size of my little finger, cut in half for my potato serving). Breakfast has always been a buffet type but this year they were not offering buffet breakfast and breakfast wasn't available to anyone past 11am (check out is 11). Usually we swim in the morning, check out and then eat breakfast at the restaurant. We sat together for breakfast and had to set our own cutlery, my dad had to get water, coffee, cream and juice from the bar for our table. They brought our food and seemed very busy. My boyfriends got his juice when we got the bill. We also got an email during the night that our reservation was cancelled and I sorted it out at the front desk in the morning and they were happy to help. Overall the stay was not relaxing and with a high cost hotel room (just under 400 dollars for 2 couples sharing a 2 queen room for one night; new years eve) the dining experience was not comparable.

Old smelly rooms with plenty of dust and fungus. You might ask the administration to change the room because of the cleaning problems. They will most probably admit the issue and offer you some other room. Well, in a new room you will hardly find any dust, but the bathroom will stay in the same poor condition. Do not be surprised to find someone’s hair all over the bathroom even in “clean” towels. The photos are from the better one, do not want to make you sick with the photos of the first one. I believe that is the hotel management problem - possibly they try to save money on cleaning and do not want the personnel to spend to much time performing it throughly. I do think that every customer deserves to get a clean room in a hotel no matter how much you pay. That is why you definitely should not expect dirty bathrooms in such a famous resort for a significant amount out of your pocket.

We stayed here for two days over the valentine weekend 2020 I’m actually writing this review as we are still staying in our over priced room. We thought this place was newly renovated as it seems it isn’t, the shower head sucks for showers as it’s clogged or something. The plug ins in the room don’t work and I couldn’t charge my phone without unplugging something else that was plugged in. The snow wasnt cleared in the patio outside or the chairs in the pool area. The vending machines were both broken as well as the bank machine. The decor in the room was super dated and just felt for the amount of money for this room it would have been an overall better stay! The food in the restaurants is mediocre but for the price it was overpriced (eggs benny was watery and the tator tots is sad) for the price could have been better! Apparently there was an incident in the pool causing it to be drained, but the signage just said it was closed temporarily! We went to front desk to actually find out they had an incident and it would be cleaned and refilled by 5 pm. We thought it was closed for the night . The amount of children running and screaming in the hallways makes for a not so relaxing weekend! There should be a family wing or something not everyone is here to be around children (ie: relaxing weekend spa)

Overall this place is overpriced not impressed with the accommodations and what comes with it.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Any time there is a room issue, you need only let us know and we can have maintenance or our houseman look after it for you. I have passed your comments about the food to our Food and Beverage department. We had a great Family day weekend with lots of families. We are proudly a family friendly resort. On your next stay, perhaps you could try one of our recently renovated king rooms which is super close to the guest only relaxing pool and comes with a few extra amenities.

We have vacationed at Fairmont Hot Springs for over 30 years and I am not sure we will be going back. A well-kept resort, full of flowers, amenities and great food is just not there anymore. The room was run down, the outside of the lodge is in dire need of a coat of paint and plants growing out of the eavestrough. The restaurant food was not very good. We left the resort for decent food. The pool had been renovated last year, but was told by pool staff that there were short cuts taken and we had to stay off the tile on the edge because they were falling apart. The pool floor tore up all of our toes (2, 4 year old and 2 adults). There was a wasp nest in the patio wall next we shared with neighbours and no traps seen anywhere. We did advise the front desk about this.

There is no room cleaning during COVID, which was fine except we were never notified about it. We needed to call housekeeping every day to order what supplies we needed. the staff were great, but I suspect overwhelmed as we need to call back often and we were forgotten on several days. I felt bad for them, they apologized a lot. The room was in rough shape, wallpaper torn and the fire extinguisher for our kitchenette had not had an annual safety inspection since 2018.

The resort used to be full of flowers and those are all gone. Love the location and the pools but it seems like it is no longer being maintained. A couple of years ago, big media announcements were made that they were renovating rooms and pools but the staff told us it had all stopped because the resort is being sold. Sad to see. we love it here but not sure we will go back.

Thank you for your input. I can assure you that no corners were cut with the pool renovation and has gone through more than one inspection from the health authority. We opened in a limited way due to Covid and choices for the short term were made to ensure our safe and successful reopening. As we pass through the other side of the pandemic things will return to normal, the flowers will return and we will continue our plans for the lodge.

I have stayed at this place at least once a year with either my husband, friends, or for a group party over the past 30 years. The reason being because of the great service, staff, hot pool as well as the hotel itself. However, things have definitely gone down hill over the last few years and this last visit was by far the worst. My friend and I booked a room with a kitchenette. I can't speak for any of the other rooms, but ours was in dire need of a good deep cleaning. Also, the wall paper was torn and coming off the wall in the bathroom. Only one of the receptacles in the outlet between the beds was working, so we had to switch back and forth between having either the lamp or the clock radio plugged in. Upon arriving, we discovered the cupboards empty and then realized that all of the dishes and cutlery were in the dishwasher. We then found that our room lacked a corkscrew and wine glasses. I called down to the front desk letting the phone ring at least 20 times before walking down to talk to someone. I was given a corkscrew and was told that someone would bring up glasses shortly. 24 hours later, we still hadn't received them. We also couldn't seem to find the pay per view on the tv. I called the front desk again, this time letting it ring 40 times before walking down to the front desk again. I was told that they no longer have pay per view. All that is available is a handful of cable stations. As far as the hot pool goes, the pool itself is full of huge cracks and the blue paint is missing all over the sides making it look very unappealing. As for the restaurant, my friend ordered a burger and made it very clear that she did not want the mushrooms on it. Her burger came loaded with canned mushrooms both under and on top of the meat pattie. Our breakfast omelettes and hashbrowns the next morning at breakfast were barely warm despite the fact that there was only one other table occupied in the dining room. I will not be back to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort until some upgrades have been made to both the resort itself as well as the staff. Very disappointing.

My husband and I just spent a 3 day weekend at the Fairmont RV park and were very disappointed. Taking COVID-19 out of the equation our stay was not a good experience. When I called to reserve I was told they were booking people only in the "Classic" sites due to some flooding. Having never been there I thought OK and accepted. They advertise Wifi, cable tv, and full hookups - not bad for $60/night. We arrived about 6 pm on Thursday night and the office was closed however a gentleman met us at the office and told us that if we wanted water we better fill up our tank as they were shutting the water off in 15 minutes. We got to our site and quickly filled our fresh water tank, then set up. As we were setting up another trailer pulled in and they went down the hill across the creek. When we went for a walk we found that indeed across the creek there were a number of RVs over there and we were the only ones in the "Classic" sites. My husband tried hooking up the cable but it was a strange set up so we left it for the night. The next morning we stopped at the office to "check in" and I ask about the cable and they couldn't tell me what the problem might have been. We stopped and got a splitter as the cable had a male end and would not stretch to our trailer so we put the splitter on and attached our cable - nothing. I called the office and was told we didn't have cable, then we did have cable and they would send grounds. They then called back and said no we didn't have cable. I ask why we were put in the Classic area and not given an option when there seem to be other trailers in the other area. It was due to flooding when I booked. No one ever told us the water was back on, we continued to use our fresh tank sparingly. Even the higher priced areas of the resort didn't look great. Bottom line is we got poor customer service, incorrect information and the only good things wer the views and the quiet. We will not be back there and will not recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to supply us with your feedback. It is unfortunate that you arrived during the flood and heavy debris flow from the Fairmont Creek and Cold Spring Creek we experienced. As a safety precaution, we had evacuated the RVs from the lower level area and some went to the area you were in because of its safe elevation. There was no need to shut the water off in that section so you did have unlimited access to potable water. As work on the creek bed through the Regional District of East Kootenay progressed and the danger of further floods and debris flow was eliminated, we permitted RVs to go back to the lower level. It was my understanding that you wanted to stay in the site you were in. If this is incorrect I apologize for any misunderstanding. You are quite correct about the cable connection being different. We are in the process of changing those connections to a more standard one and once again apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our RV Resort. Please reach out to me directly at the phone numbers listed below if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back. Doug MacQueen / Manager, RV Resort & Spruce Grove RV Park and Campground Office: 250.345.6033 / Toll Free: 1.800.663.4979 opt 6
