My partner and I stayed in one of the eight log cabins for a 9 day visit. The cabins are so cute! We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the porch and taking in the breath taking view of the mountains and the wetlands. Then we spent our days enjoying all the area has to offer- hiking the hoodoos, mountain biking on the spirit trail, kayaking on the river, relaxing at the beach, hitting the hot springs, ziplining, going to the farmers market in Invermere and trying out a few of the restaurants in Windermere and Invermere. The Raven's Nest location was the perfect jumping off spot for us to start our adventures every day. We spent our nights barbecuing a great dinner and enjoying a drink around the fire before nestling into our super comfy bed and soft, warm duvet.
The cabins have all the basics covered that you need for a stress free stay. The bathroom and hot shower is especially nice, just bring your own soap and shampoo. Our cabin had a ladder going up to the loft bedroom which wouldn't be for everyone but there are other cabins available with stairs instead.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and can't wait to come back!

My new fiancé and I stayed in the "birch cabin" for 10 days from late Aug to early Sept. We arrived late in the evening, but were instantly impressed by this cozy cabin which while small has a well equipped kitchenette and a bathroom with a standing shower (hot water). The small size of the cabin was perfect for two people, but could easily accommodate four people as it has two queen sized beds in the upper area.

We were even more impressed by the views of the valley from our cabin when we woke up the next morning. The coffee tastes so much better outside on the porch with views like these. We were able to do most of our cooking on the BBQ which has a convenient side burner, good for boiling water and making pan meals.

Another great feature of the resort is how close it is to the many activities you want to do while visiting the Columbia Valley. While staying at Ravens nest we went kayaking in the wetlands, hiking in the hoodoos, zip lining up in the mountains, biking the spirit trail by Columbia Lake, and relaxing at natural hotsprings (Lussier Hot Spring).

The cabins (there are 8 of them) aren't far away from each other, so you will meet your neighbors. Everyone we met were super nice and considerate, but I can imagine a noisy neighbor might have made our stay less pleasant.

However I still can't recommend these cabins enough! It felt like a privilege to stay next to such beautiful scenery in these super cute and cozy cabins. Definitely a must to stay here!

Great location, wonderful views, relaxing environment and atmosphere. Camp sites are fairly large and well shaded with trees and natural shrubs offering some privacy. Outhouses were very clean, cold shower was not the greatest but really felt outdoorsy after that lol. Dish station was convenient but hot water would be helpful, and it is a shame that other users left a mess after doing their dishes. Personally I normally prefer provincial campgrounds, this place is now my favourite private campground!

We started off our trip to Raven's Nest Resort on a sour note. We had called to check on the cancellation policy as with the forest fires this summer a couple of the highways had closed so we were concerned if Hwy 1 were to close that we would not be able to get there and would lose the full cost of the cabin rental in which we had already paid *nearly 500 dollars* for. We called and spoke to one of the owners, Faro I believe was his name. We told him the situation and said we will absolutely be there as long as there were no highway closures to which he responded "there's wildfire all summer long so no you won't get your money back, you read the policy when you booked the place". His response was pretty blunt and distasteful, understandably we did read and understand the policy when booking but of course the wildfires are out of our control so that is why I called to clarify. Thankfully there were no closures so on we went. After arriving in the Fairmont area it took us about 45 minutes to find the turnoff off of the highway as there is a sign but no lights to notify you to turn so difficult to find when driving in the dark on the highway. Maybe a solar light or something similar to that might be helpful feedback. So we finally found the place and arrived at the cabin area, I walked around with my flashlight to try and find which cabin was ours as there were no signs at the back of the cabins where the parking space was. I found our cabin to which I was very confused as there was a family in there that had made themselves at home. I walked around to ensure there wasn't another cabin by the same name but nope all I could find were other cabins that all appeared to be full. I ended up having to call the number listed online it was late at this time but I had to figure out what was going on. The other family I guess had mistakenly been told the wrong cabin so the owner Emily ended up setting up with another cabin nearby. When we finally unloaded the vehicle and were settled in our cabin I went to have a shower and there was no hot water. After driving 6 hours, a quick shower was needed so I just hopped in the icey shower. I thought maybe the hot water tank was empty as it is off the grid so I that wouldn't be out of the realm of normal. The next morning I went to try the shower again, lukewarm water for about 30 seconds then ice cold again. I didn't have time to wait to have it fixed as I had a wedding to attend so I went to the wedding with conditioner still in my hair. Emily, one of the owners who is quite lovely, was able to take a look at the shower as we were heading out to the wedding. When I returned later that evening after the wedding I tried again with the shower AGAIN no hot water. I just gave up on the hot water at that point and decided to go without until I got home the following day. All in all the experience was a bit of a series of unfortunate events. The site itself was beautiful with a fantastic view of the valley and rivers. I'm a little preturbed by the fact that all of the above had happened and no mention of a refund or any sort of credit due to the inconveniences. I know this is a pretty new site and that may be overwhelming. Hopefully a learning experience as their business continues to grow sadly we won't be return customers though

Emily, we appreciate your feedback. We are sorry this was your experience with us. We do work really hard to assure everyone of our guests have a great stay with us but unfortunately not everything goes as planned. If you would have told us the hot water wasn't working again in the morning, and you wanted to be compensated, we would have been happy to offer you a refund at the time. It's disappointing to us as a business, to have to read about these experiences online instead of having the opportunity to make it right, right away.

Beautiful location next to the Columbia wetlands! I've camped here and found the sites to be spacious and well placed, they have a really great playground that my kids enjoyed! We also stayed in the cabins, the beds are super comfortable and each cabin is equipped with the essentials. These cabins are powered by solar electricity and are 100% off grid. Really enjoyed the quiet mornings overlooking the wetlands sipping coffee made in the French press! Highly recommend!

Pros: great views from campsites 1 to 5
Nice isolation and quiet from highway. Beautiful countryside around.

Challenges: Huge disconnect between a very professional website and what you discover on arrival. An earlier reviewer made this point. We ignored him to our regret.

Resort?? Ummm, no. More a field off the highway with recently roughed in campsites.

Facility is still in early stages of development and is totally off the grid. Looks like a locale for a bush party ( which they wisely forbid). This may be your taste.

We arrived @ 5pm . Campground was completely empty. No office other than a padlocked shed that might be an office ( or isn't, we still don't know),  no "back soon" signs or management . We watched 2 other sets of campers drive in, look around and leave. We had a 3 day prepaid reservation.

No water (stated up front). You can drive 58km round trip  to Canal Flats if you want some.

Unlike National or Provincial campgrounds in the area, once you've paid , no refunds, so be very sure before you arrive.

Basically this is a couple with extra property who wish to start a campground from scratch. It has potential but still a good way to go, and a lot of learning, to approximate the website.

Hello Kent & Sandy Hayglass, After taking the time to listen to your concerns while you were on site, and again in this review, we have considered all your feedback and will keep in mind as we move forward. We are sorry, again, that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We are a new and unique location, that is the beauty that attracts those who are normally blown away. Like you said, we are off the grid and promote an outdoor experience, with lots of space, peace, quiet, views, wildlife sightings and a laid back, modern, positive attitude. While your perspective of our hard work and the vision we pursued of our resort is true to you, it is only your perspective and the positive feedback we receive daily, speaks loudly to us as well. We need to address the water comment - showers, dishwashing sink, hand washing next to toilets all available on site Drinking water not currently available on site and we suggest to pack in but you can purchase in Fairmont 7km roundtrip. Lake or River access available in Fairmont 10-20km round trip. Also beaches in Windermere or Invermere, closer than Canal Flats but their beach is great there too!

We stayed in our truck camper for two nights in July 2023. The out door shower and outhouses were extremely clean! There are hand washing stations and also areas to wash dishes for those tenting. The campground is rustic as there are no hookups. It was a wonderful experience and very quiet! An area is set up for bochi ball, ladder game and there is also a disc golf course! Large open field where we stored our boat while visiting the Fairmont Hotsprings during our stay. It is far enough away from highway to not be bothered by traffic noise but close to many attractions.
The viewpoint of the valley is spectacular! Other family members stayed in one of the nearby log cabins. The cabin was very clean and was well supplied with a lovely washroom and kitchen. Great for people who are tenting and there is also a Tipi that can be rented that has the most amazing view and is very private.
Big trees that provide shade. Would definitely stay again!

The website is way too advanced for this property. It is not a resort at all. It is a piece of dirt with signage. Move on as there are much better locations within the area.

When I cancelled a week prior to attending they charged a 12.50 cancellation fee. Not good. We actually went to property to speak with mgr but there was knowone there and they did not come around except to collect $$

Patric, it's unfortunate to hear this was your experience. We hope you can understand this was our first full year in operation, we are still developing, and our "Resort" has began as just a campground. At our campground and most campgrounds in our area, it is quite standard to camp in the dirt. This coming season we will be opening up a few additions to our resort, including but not limited to, 8 beautiful log cabins and a 18 basket disc golf course. As we continue to grow and develop, the main attraction will likely remain the breath taking view and naturally beautiful outdoor setting. A $12 cancellation fee is significantly below average for the campground industry in BC. As a small business, there are costs to us for your booking including a fee from the software that you booked through as well as a fee for the credit card payment and another fee for the credit card refund. We, as a new, small, owner operated business are not interested in taking $$ from guests who did not stay with us but we also cannot afford to pay for their change of plans either.

We had booked this weekend cabin stay on the recommendation of friends, and we weren't disappointed.

We stayed in the Aspen cabin and were very happy with the amenities that were provided.

The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable, and we both slept very well. When you're moving around up in the loft, one must remember to watch your head, as the ceiling is very low, particularly over the beds.

The small table, chairs and outside furniture were well chosen and comfortable.

Thankfully, the weather was fantastic, as the only choice is to cook outside on the very large BBQ, with side burner. With minimal weather cover, cooking in the rain would not be a pleasant experience. An extended Awning would be a great addition here.

The kitchen supplies were very good, and we had everything we needed for the weekend, other than a can opener.

We appreciated the large firepit, and ready supply of firewood.

The hammocks and group fun area were a nice diversion and provided a nice shaded location to sit, relax and read or just take a nap.

If I had to bring any criticism, it would be the very open view of the front of the cabin. While this is nice to be able to see the fantastic view over the valley, it means that on a sunny day, the sun will be streaming into the front of the cabin, where there are lots of windows and the cabin warms up very quickly and gets very warm.

All in all, we had a fantastic and relaxing weekend, at a wonderfully quiet location, with very comfortable amenities.
