Visited over xmas as we were staying in the area. We've been before and knew what to expect....and that was delicious food at a fairly reasonable price. And yet again we got it. I had the Goulash and have never tasted anything quite like it, quite rich (the red wine I suspect....) and sooooo tasty, with the meat just falling... More

This is a bit of a joint review, both for the Truffle Pigs restaurant as well as the related hotel (also known as Kicking Horse, I think). ROOMS: Fairly run-of-the-mill hotel-style rooms, but quite spacious and with the lovely added touch of local chocolates on the pillows. Showers were great (super hot, good water pressure)--perfect after a day skiing. Would... More

We are regulars at Truffle Pigs throughout the winter season. Nestled in the mountains of Yoho National Park, just west of the Alberta/BC border, this boutique lodge is comfortable and quirky. A great location for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities, with breathtaking views and peaceful walks, all in your backyard. (And great skiing at Lake Louise just 20 minutes away.)... More

We booked a night at Truffle Pigs (also known as Kicking Horse Inn) in the tiny, pretty town of Field, as part of our exploration of the Jasper/Banff/Lake Louise/Yoho area. Some friends had highly recommended Truffle Pigs for dinner (and they were sooo right - a truly exceptional meal [see separate review]), so it seemed sensible to stay the night... More

I can't explain why, but Field was one of my favourite places in Canada so i'm already favouring Truffle Pigs Lodge. It's an Inn. Rooms have everything you need and are not bang up to date but if you are looking for the best of welcomes (Hooray for Tanje!), a dead cutesy town well situated for such gems as Emerald... More

Stayed 2 nights. Our 2nd floor room was very comfortable and was well equipped. The lodge is close to the railway line and crews change at Field. Goods trains run at irregular times and may disturb some during the night but after a good day out exploring the local sights followed by a superb meal in the lodge's bistro we... More

Reading past reviews, they are somewhat indifferent and I suppose when you roll up to stay somewhere new, everyone's expectations differ slightly. For us, the Truffle Pigs Lodge was fine. It's not a Holiday Inn, nor is it a 4 or 5 Star hotel. It is what it says it is, a bold and picturesque wooden Lodge in a good... More

We stayed for one night, our room was on the second floor...it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It had two wing back chairs and table sitting area, a fridge, coffee maker and snacks at extra cost. The staff was very pleasant & helpful. We arrived in between lunch & supper, but we were able to sit outside on... More

Recently stayed at the Truffle Pig with my 75 year old parents. The rooms were clean, the beds were great, staff were all friendly and attentive. We had an exceptional dinner for my Mom's 75 birthday and the owner sent out a complementary glass of champagne and dessert which was not expected! The outdoor seating area provides a welcome reading... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to be close to hiking at Yoho National Park, after being unable to find space at any of the B&B's in Field. The room was in the lower (basement) level with 2 queen beds. It was like a cheap motel room with old furnishings and fridge/microwave/coffee maker. Positives: The beds were comfortable. The train... More
