Recently spent an evening at Taboo Muskoka Resort. Great room overlooking Lake Muskoka. Very modern, updated decor. Great bathroom -my wife loved the spacious shower with large overhead shower head (felt like you were in the middle of a rain shower). Comfortable bed. Very clean. Boathouse Restaurant was mediocre at best. Expected more from this first class resort. However, they... More

Just came back from celebrating my 50th birthday with my family. We stayed at Taboo for three days, two nights. The hotel rooms are beautiful, decorated modernly with a minimalist approach, which I really like. The setting is stunning but unfortunately it ends there. If you checked out the website there is absolutely no restaurant on the property that slightly... More

The property is beautiful with a nice sandy beach, 3 pools and kayak & bicycle rentals included in the room price. The rooms have all been recently renovated and are modern and gorgeous. Our large room was on the 3rd floor and on a corner with lots of windows and a wrap around glass balcony with a table and two... More

3 of us drove from Barrie on Monday July 11th for lunch. The resort seems really spread out. There seems to be 2 pools in separate areas. We never did see what we would call a main building. There are numerous buildings and cottages. Gorgeous location. The Boathouse Restaurant seems to be the only place to eat so you would... More

I had a great time here with my wife and toddler. Everyone is friendly and the room seemed really nicely updated. 2 negatives that I had: they charge extra for housekeeping. I've never heard of this and I travel quite frequently. It's not a big deal to make the bed or get new towels. However it would be good for... More

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was beautiful. The room was clean, staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the resort was quiet (even in the middle of July) but was quite accommodating for kids. Beach is clean and shallow for miles. And you can't beat the location. The only qualm I had was with the food.... More

My friends and I recently played golf at taboo resort and were completely shocked at how bad the level of service was . We started our day at boathouse to try and get a bite to eat before our round .....all I can say is wow. Then part way through our round we were told there was no food available... More

Went to Taboo for a team offsite-absolutely beautiful resort (rooms, scenery), the staff took care of everything we needed (food, conference rooms) and there was so much to do (boating, swimming, etc)

Enjoyed a few days here recently. Hard place to leave! Just beautiful setting! Had a premier lakefront 4th floor balcony room. Absolutely lovely and modern, large room. Fireplace included for a cold weather visit. Muskoka chairs on glass enclosed balcony. Very clean room as well. Just amazing setting right on Lake Muskoka. Many spots to sit at around the property... Taboo is a really nice upscale resort. Its not too far from Toronto so its easy to get to. There are very good things about the resort as well as some things that need improvement. The staff did mentioned the resort was going to have a big improvement in the next couple of years so that's good news. As it... More
